Fight For Your Right - Revisited [Man, I Wish This Was a Real Movie...]

Photobucket
I mean, I guess it kind of is.

This two-minute trailer is for a 30-minute short film starring Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, John C. Reilly and Elijah Wood as two sets of the Beastie Boys battling to be the real trio. Sounds weird, I'm sure, but it actually looks pretty amazing. The preview for the film doubles as a music video for the song Make Some Noise off the group's upcoming album Hot Sauce Committe, Pt. 2 and is also pretty reminiscent of the original. Check it out:

Rumor has it that the full-length film includes cameos from Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst, David Cross, Amy Poehler, Jason Schwartzman, Adam Scott, Rainn Wilson, Steve Buscemi, Alicia Silverstone, Martin Starr, Rashida Jones, and Mike Mills from R.E.M.

Dopeness.

Must See Movies....that NOBODY Talks About.

Photobucket
First off, Fanboys is funny as hell. Point blank. If you've ever laughed at one of the other movies I've recommended, or even if you haven't, you still need to check this out. It's set in 1998 about a group of five friends and their quest to see Star Wars Episode 1: The Attack of the Phantom Menace. Does that sound nerdy enough for you?? The thing is, the movie's not set for release for another six months and one of the Fanboys is battling with cancer. So what do they do? Wait six months and go see it as friends?? Hell no. They decide to go through with something they've planned since middle school: break into Skywalker Ranch and steal a rough cut of the movie. Gangsta. The movie stars Sam Huntington [Not Another Teen Movie], Jay Baruchel [Knocked Up/Tropic Thunder] and the snooks of all snooks, Kristen Bell [Forgetting Sarah Marshall]. Just an overall surprisingly hilarious movie with cameos from Seth Rogen [two roles], Craig Robinson, Danny McBride, Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith and Will Forte. Just those names alone make it worth it. But don't take my word for it, check out this scene with one of Seth Rogen's cameos:
Yea, it's true. Seth Rogen has been in every comedy produced since 2004. And I'm not mad.

Now on to Fifty Pills. This movie is about a college student that, upon returning to school from a terrible trip visiting home, finds out that his roommate threw a crazy party while he was away. The party was so crazy that he ended up losing his scholarship and is on the verge of having to quit school. His only hope in raising the money for tuition in time is selling the fifty pills of ecstasy that his asshole of a roommate gave him. It's starring relatively unknown actor Lou Taylor Pucci [Believe it or not, he was in Fanboys] and once again, the snooks, KRISTEN BELL. Another hilarious movie with cameos from Michael Peña [Crash/Lions for Lambs], Donnell Rawlings [Chappelle's Show] and Eddie Kaye Thomas [Finch from American Pie.] Check out this scene with Donnell Rawlings and Eddie Kaye Thomas. Pure comedy:
Don't sleep on Fanboys and Fifty Pills on some of those College Football-less Saturday afternoons. Plus, Kristen Bell is in both of em.

You won't regret it.

"I'm Thinkin About Tryin for a ScholarSHIPPP...."

Photobucket
This is possibly my most random blog entry ever but it's aight. So I was watching one of my favorite movies, Pineapple Express last night when I realized there was a reference to another one of my favorite movies, The Breakfast Club. It's pretty subtle, but me and @jinxington always laughed at the part when it came up in Breakfast Club. "I'm tryin out for a scholarSHIPPP!" hahaha

Funny Gotta Start Somewhere...

Photobucket
When it comes to movies, I do comedies. Funny shit will prevail any day of the week and NOBODY is killing the comedy game like Seth Rogen. I mean, 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad, Step Brothers, Pineapple Express, Zack and Miri make a Porno, Observe and Report, Funny People...his movies speak for themselves. The little known fact is that Rogen has been acting in funny shit stuff for years. Back in 1999 he co-starred in the short-lived comedy series Freaks and Geeks on NBC. What's even more interesting were the actors that he worked with on the show, many of which he's worked with again in recent years. Co-stars included James Franco [Pineapple Express], Jason Sigel [Knocked Up], Martin Starr [Knocked Up], David Krumholtz [Knocked Up], Kevin Corrigan [Superbad], Jason Schwartzman [Funny People], and even Shia LaBeouf. One of Judd Apatow's earliest works, the show was hilarious and the cast is classic to say the least. Check out some of the clips:

And here's Seth Rogen's audition for Freaks and Geeks.
I guess funny really does have to start somewhere.

Easter's Just Not The Same...

I don't mean the actual celebrating of the holiday isn't the same, that's still cool. I'm talking about what the kids are wearing on Easter Sunday these days. Let me explain. When my brother and I were young, our Mom used to make sure we were fly as hell on Easter. And by fly, I mean we were wearing bright ass pastel colors, stone-washed jeans and Cliff Huxtable sweaters. Ill. I refuse to believe that my brother and I were the only kids forced to wear loud and obnoxious clothing each and every Easter Sunday. My all-time favorite was the blue, pink, green and yellow plaid suits with the matching ties and a matching yellow shirt. That's what Easter fashion is all about!! Our Easter suits were so tight that all the other kids were looking at us like:

Every kid I saw today was dressed like they were trying to get a summer internship: regular clothes or navy and khaki. Come on parents, where's the motivation?!

Hope you had a good one. Oww.
