Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. I pretty much scour the internet for new Danny Brown tracks practically every week so I'm really not sure how I missed this complete and utter banger from him earlier this year. Come to think of it, Express Yourself just might be track that gets me through the summer. Especially since Dom Kennedy went on permanent hibernation. Kid Cudi feat. Kendrick Lamar - Solo Dolo Part II [MP3]

So, Kid Cudi's much-anticipated third [or fourth, depending on who you ask] album Indicud leaked yesterday, or so I heard through the Twitters. Upon first listen, the album has an exceptionally strong start but seems to fizzle out pretty hard toward the end. The early highlight, other than previously released singles King Wizard and Immortal has to be the Kendrick Lamar-assisted Solo Dolo Part II. Now, I'm not sure how someone can make a song with someone else and still call it Solo Dolo, but this song works and it goes. For some strange reason, Kendrick is still hungry and Cudi's still Cudi. [And I mean that in the best way possible.] Check out Solo Dolo Part II:

Cudi is always an artist that leads to debate and early thoughts on Indicud are mixed. I've always been a fan of his. I mean, he makes music to rage and drink beer to, what's not to love. But at the same time, I've felt let down at some points in the past. But at least with this album, we might as well wait until it's actually released to completely dissect it.....yeah right. Where's the fun in that?

CFCF - Raining Patterns [MP3/Download]

First off, CFCF is the shit.

I don't know much else about him other than the fact that he's from Montreal, his production will melt your face and his music in general is legitimately magical.

Okay, I'm not sure about that last part but I've been listening to Continent [2009] for years now and it's on my phone to this day. In the days of weekly releases and unlimited music torrents, that's gotta say something. I mean seriously, there's literally not a bad track on this album. If I was forced at gunpoint had to pick a standout song it would most likely be the opening track, Raining Pattern. It's seven and a half minutes of pure magic. I love Kilo Kish.

I mean, like love. At this point, she can do no wrong in my eyes and she's probably the coolest girl on earth. She also makes music occasionally. My favorite song from her has always been Creepwave and main knock was that it was just a brief two minutes of greatness. Van She - Changes [MP3 + Download]

Van She is one of many bands that I didn't start listening to until a few years after they reached the peak of their popularity. I almost loafed. If it wasn't for me checking samples on Crystal Castles' first album, I probably would've never found em. Funny how samples work. It turns out that Crystal Castles sampled Van She on one of my favorite songs of theirs, Vanished. [Get it...Van She...Vanished?...alright.] You have to listen closely to get the sample, but it's there.

Anyway, the point of all this is to show you the song Changes which is my favorite track off of Van She's debut album V. It even has a little bit of a Phoenix-y sound around the hook. Check it out.

Lupe Fiasco - American Terrorist III [MP3]

OK, excuse time. I'm pretty late with posting this is because it came out during one of my patented blogging hiatuses. Gotta love those, right? I actually figured that by now pretty mnuch everybody had already heard Lupe's American Terrorist III on somebody’s music blog. You know, with the innanets and all. But after my trip this weekend and nobody knowing what the fuck hell I was talking about, I realized I was wrong. This chilling continuation in a series of American Terrorist tracks [Part II remains to be seen, I guess] may not be as ground-breaking or anticipated as the original, but it’s still an exceptionally dope look at terrorism and its causes and effects, through three different perspectives. Say what you want about Lupe falling off [which I don’t agree with] but the guy has always been creative—especially on his non-album material. Also, it’s dope without them but here are the lyrics for added effect. Check it out.

BADBADNOTGOOD - Rotten Decay / Hard in the Paint [MP3]

I mean at this point, it's no surprise that I'm a pretty big fan of BADBADNOTGOOD. The unique mixture of jazz, hip-hop and classical music is an amazing breath of fresh air--especially coming from such a young group of musicians. The first is an original single entitled Rotten Decay that stays pretty true to the sound that's gotten them popular. The second is a cover of the timless negro classic, Hard in the Paint by sir Waka Flocka.

ASAP Rocky - Out of This World [MP3]

Whenever you discover or hear about a musical new artist or group there's usually a song or video you come across that solidifies them as a legit newcomer. Over the last week, and much urging from Sterling and Modi, I finally decided to check out the LiveLoveASAP tape from ASAP Rocky--which is not so surprisingly dope. Outside the obvious choice of Purple Swag, the song on the tape that actually stuck out to me as extra dope was the very last song, Out of This World. I'm not sure if it's the multiple Jay-Z and Kanye references or the J.Cole-ish flow, but I can't stop playing this joint. Don't believe me? Go ahead and check it out. And while you're at it, you might as well go ahead and download the entire mixtape. It's definitely worth a listen.

Plus, you should probably give the Drake album a rest for a couple days.
