Vince Staples & Michael Uzowuru - Winter In Prague

Back after a long[er than normal] hiatus, and for good reason. Vince Staples and producer Michael Uzowuru released the long-awaited mixtape Winter In Prague yesterday. And timing couldn't have been better. I'm not sure what it is, but these two have made dope music together for awhile and this mixtape keeps the trend going. Fresh off the release of the most talked-about mixtape of the year other than Rich Forever, Big K.R.I.T. has released visuals for Boobie Miles—clearly one of the dopest songs off of 4Eva N A Day. Damn, I really miss the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Like a lot. The worst part about it is that I don't even see reruns on TV these days. It looks like Pogo has our back with this dope mix of clips from the show making a pretty catchy song. Can't even lie, I've watched this at least 3 times.

I really shouldn't be doing this but after tweeting with Jinx and Austin earlier today, I refuse to let the Dipset Midwest movement die without a fight.

Just for the record: This was never supposed to be released.

I'm bringing back Dipset Midwest...at least for the time being. Back in school, my friends and I would oftentimes spend late nights chugging Bud Lights and freestyling over our favorite Dipset beats. With me being from Illinois and my boy Dre being from Ohio, naturally we called ourselves Dipset Midwest. Check out one of my favorite joints we did over Cam'ron's Do Your Thing beat.

Any blogger can tell you that it's pretty easy to fall behind in your posts. Throw in a full-time job, frequently tearing up DC basketball courts and a rager lifestyle during the weekends and you get the idea. I did, however, need to make it back to get the word out about my boy A.Ware's most recent project, is Lady Heroin. It dropped yesterday and it's really sick. More Genius From Kanye

Recently, putting in crazy hours on the campaign has kept me away from updating my blog as often as I'd like and as a result I've missed out on blogging about Kanye's music-filled Summer. I hate to use work as an excuse but it's for real. He's been MURDERING as of late and since the RIAA has been yanking my download links for all of his new stuff, I figured I'd post a couple of my favorite early joints from Kanye along with their inspirations.

When I first got into Kanye I came across two joints in which he and Consequence go back in forth on classic hip hop songs all while maintaining the same rhyme scheme and meter of the originals -- get what I'm saying?? I know it sounds crazy but check em out and it'll make more sense.

Even though you could probably throw me on a track with Lupe and Pharrell and it'll probably come out dope, Diggy really held his own. I was skeptical at first but after the Made You Look video that Phil the God did awhile back, I was sold. Check out the newest joint from Diggy Simmons, Lupe and Pharrell, Oh Yeah!

Old Fab Was Some of the Best Fab...

Case in point... Fabolous dropped More Street Dreams, Pt. 2 back in 2003 and that shit is still in my car. Joints like Now Ride, Renegade and even Think Yall Know had me as the only kid in Baton Rouge bumpin Fabolous loud as hell...remember, this was a mixtape people.
