Happy Belated Birthday, Penny Hardaway

Photobucket
I'm lowkey upset that yesterday I missed the 40th birthday of one of my favorite basketball players of all time, Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway. Honestly, Penny might have missed the mark in terms of all-time greatness due to injuries, but he could have quite possibly the second best signature shoe series in basketball history. [Behind Jordan, of course.]

And that, my friends, is quite an accomplishment.
Happy Belated, Penny.

Lissie - Pursuit of Happiness [Kid Cudi Cover] [Video]

Photobucket
So I'm very extremely new to Lissie but I'm already a huge fan of hers mainly for three reasons:
  1. She's from Illinois
  2. She chugs tequila like a champ
  3. And she performed an amazing cover of Pursuit of Happiness at a show last year.

Not sure how I missed this for an entire year but I'm sold nonetheless. I mean, the cover was so dope that some considered it the top cover of 2010.
Check it out:

Guess I have some research to do.

Big Sean - Made [Produced by WrighTrax] Video

Photobucket
Gotta take a much needed late pass on this Big Sean video. It's for Made off Finally Famous Vol. 3 and it's actually one of my favorite tracks from the mixtape. I didn't realize that this was produced by my boy Deuce from WrighTrax (Big Sean- Getcha Some, Mike Posner - Drug Dealer Girl) who was a classmate back at Morehouse. Check the video:
This version doesn't have Drake on it but if you want the original version, get the mixtape. Or just click here.

Gonna be a big year for Big Sean and WrighTrax.

Late Pass: Mac Miller is Dope

Photobucket
So apparently I was sleeping on Mac Miller when I first heard of him last year. His music was straight but just not really polished. But when I stumbled across his new K.I.D.S. mixtape, I could tell he'd improved...a lot. Like a whole lot. It's not mind-blowing, life-changing music, but it's dope to ride to. [As cliché as that sounds.] Being only 18, you wouldn't really expect the dopeness of this mixtape. Still not sure what you're in store for?? Think Mike Posner - the wackness x Wiz Khalifa x Asher Rosh - sounding like Eminem = Mac Miller. And the videos are pretty dope. Check out these from Mac Miller:

Traffic in the Sky // Don't Mind If I Do
Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza

Nikes on my Feet

La La La La

Download the K.I.D.S. mixtape here.

And put your thumbs up.

One More Reason Why Jay-Z is the Man

Photobucket

Gotta take a late pass on this, but I just came across this today. Who's itinerary looks like this: Dinner at the White House with the Obamas, Mexican President Felipe Calderon and Oprah [among others] and follow it up with breakfast with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New Jersey Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov?? Oh yeah, Jay-Z's does. And that's exactly what he did last week.

Boss type shit.

[Note: Shouts to Righteous Babygirls for the heads up.]

Nike Human Chain

Photobucket
Yea...I got another Late Pass coming. This one's not completely my fault but it demonstrates why Nike is one of my favorite companies. One of their latest commercials, entitled Human Chain, is one of the dopest commercials I've seen in a long time. I missed out on it because I don't watch much tv...besides ESPN, Seifeld and The Colbert Report. Kind of ironic, huh? My boy @MrDuckworth87 told me about this joint last week but I'm just now getting around to posting it. Oh well, the commercial is dope. It has appearances from Oscar Pistorius, Sergio Aguero, Deron Williams, Maria Sharapova, Mike Spinner, Rampage Jackson, LaDainian Tomlinson and Lance Armstrong. Wide range of athletes for a broad reaching advertisement. Nike can do no wrong.
Oh yea, and the soundtrack is Ali in the Jungle by the Hours. It was also on the FIFA 08 soundtrack. ROCKIN too.
