Today In iPod Randomness - #1

What do Aphex Twin, Paramore and Rivers Cuomo have in common?? ...they're random as shit, that's what.

Those that know me well know that I don't go anywhere without my iPhone/iPod. Something that I really pride myself on is having a good mix of both classic songs and new music as well as a wide variety of music. And pretty much using the shuffle setting gets me the most random and well-rounded mix of music.

This was more apparent than ever last night when my iPod played three of the most random songs consecutively:

• Pop The Trunk by Yelawolf,
• Obstacle 1 by Interpol, and
• KRS-One by Sublime.

Pretty f'ing random. Click the links if you don't believe me.

But then this got me to thinking, "What if I starting posting the first three songs that come on my iPod when its on random?" And that's exactly what I'm gonna do. So here's the first Today in iPod Randomness post:

1. Blink 182 - All the Small Things
2. N.E.R.D. - Baby Doll
3. OFWGKTA [Tyler, the Creator] - Splatter

Yea, this is gonna be ill.
Random, but ill.

Summer Songs: Sublime - Caress Me Down

Aight. Summer Song #4 and it's another joint from arguably one of my favorite bands of all time, Sublime. This is one of their lesser-played songs, but it's still a summer classic in my book. It's off of the band's self-titled 1996 album and the song is called Caress Me Down. Classic Sublime shit.

Damn, I just realized........summer's almost over.

Summer Songs: Sublime - What I Got

After talking to my cousin Tiffany about some of our favorite summer songs, I figured now would be a good time to start posting some of my favorites that we came up with. Gotta kick if off with What I Got from Sublime. Great song already, but a perfect example of a classic Summer song.
Can't believe this joint is 14 years old.

More Summertime classics to come.

Music of the Moment - April 12, 2010

This one's a little different. But it has a familiar sound. The Dirty Heads are a band from Southern California and I'm not gonna be around the bush about it, they sound like Sublime. That's what I was thinking until I realized that this song featured Rome Ramirez from Sublime. Anyway, check out Lay Me Down by the Dirty Heads. Audio here.

Cerverza, Por Favor....

Yeah, it's Cinco de Mayo and I'm done with finals. You know what that means. Tacos y cerveza y tequila = El Oww. Tonight should be a blast even though not every one is finished yet. It's definitely the drinker's holiday, so we must celebrate. We have plans for the night but I'm not sure if we should hit Chipotle during the day or hit an authentic Mexican restaurant. Any suggestions?? Oh well, Viva La Mexico y Feliz Cinco de Mayo. Hopefully the night ends up looking like this:
Well, everyone have fun tonight, because I know I will. But be safe too; don't take it too far....esta que ella dice.
El owwwwww.
[Note: This video isn't even Mexican or about a Mexican story, but it sounds like it. And Sublime is the shit...oh, and Deebo is in it. Fuckin Sancho.]
