Derrick Rose Wins MVP

Photobucket
I mean, we've all known for a few weeks that this was going to happen but last night made it official. Rose becomes the youngest MVP in league history at 22 years old, a distinction previously held by Wes Unseld who won the award in 1969 at 23.

Rose received 1,182 total points in the voting with 113 first place votes. He edged out Orlando's Dwight Howard (643 points, three first place), Miami's LeBron James (522, four first-place votes), the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant (428, one first-place vote) and Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant (190).

Well done, Derrick.
Now let's go get this ring.

Incubus - Adolescents [Video]

New Incubus. This is from their upcoming album If Not Now, When? due in July. Haven't dropped a new album since 2006 and they haven't lost a beat.
Dopeness.

Big K.R.I.T. - Dreamin' [Video]

Finally the video for my hands-down favorite track off Return of 4Eva. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get into Krit. Better late than never, I guess. Check out Dreamin':

If you haven't downloaded already, do yourself a favor and stop fakin.

Bulls Set For Game 1, Thibodeau Wins Coach of the Year

Photobucket

This weekend, Bulls Head Coach Tom Thibodeau was named the 2010-2011 NBA Coach of the Year, joining the ranks of Johnny "Red" Kerr (1967), Dick Motta (1971) and Phil Jackson (1996). This is a major accomplishment mainly because winning this award in a rookie campaign has only been done six times before this year and in doing so, he also guided the Bulls to the best record in the NBA.

Hawks at Bulls, Game 1 @ 7:00 pm.

Osama's Dead...What Next??

Photobucket

The news spread like crazy last night about the death of Osama bin Laden. I have to admit, I was a little happy to think that American's that lost family and loved ones 10 years ago may finally be able to get some closure following such a tragic event. I feel like that's the main takeaway from this. Or at least it should be.

The other thing I thought about was, while this should be a moment of celebration, there is still the threat of possible backlash from al-Qaeda radicals. (Knock on wood) Closure is good but we still need to be focused on the bigger picture, which is ending terrorism in the nation and the world.

As my man Dave said on Twitter: The leader is dead but the ideology is still very much alive.

Tyler keeps coming with funny new shit.

This one is totally unrelated to music. But still funny nonetheless.

I have no idea how he comes up with this shit. Shouts to Modi for the heads up.
