The Blackhawks are Stanley Cup Champions....Again!

 photo a8b6a633-97d1-4051-b430-c83b0970ec4b_zps656bb777.jpg
Two goals in 17 seconds.

That’s how you go from hosting a must-win, all-or-nothing Game 7 against a talented team and ending it on the spot, in crunch time on your opponent’s ice. The 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs have been amazing and I’m sure the NHL (or at least playoff NHL) has a bunch of new fans, in and outside of Chicago. This was simply some of the most exciting hockey I’ve ever seen. From the triple overtime barn burner in Game 1 to the back-to-back goals in Game 6, there was never a dull moment in this series, especially. Patrick Kane became just the fourth American to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable postseason player. He also led the Blackhawks with nine goals and ten assists (and one amazing mullet) during the playoffs. This was the perfect way to end a record breaking season. And after blunders from the Bears, Bulls and Lord knows the Sox, Chicago sports fans needed this. Cheers, Hawks.

Oh, and I stole the last one from @ayellemm, too. Thanks Ashley! Go Hawks!

Also, these may or may not be direct quotes:

I'll stop now. Go Hawks.

S3 = Sampson Sports Struggle.

Photobucket
2012 has been a very trying year for literally every one of my sports teams. I really can't put into words. Trust me, I tried. Life as a Sampson shouldn't be so tough.

Dallas....Cavs?? Really Cleveland???

Photobucket

Aight Cavs fans, we understand you're a little bitter about Lebron but this is too much. Even though I'm still sick that my Bulls aren't in the Finals, this series will be over in no more than 6.

Sorry Dallas.

Derrick Rose Wins MVP

Photobucket
I mean, we've all known for a few weeks that this was going to happen but last night made it official. Rose becomes the youngest MVP in league history at 22 years old, a distinction previously held by Wes Unseld who won the award in 1969 at 23.

Rose received 1,182 total points in the voting with 113 first place votes. He edged out Orlando's Dwight Howard (643 points, three first place), Miami's LeBron James (522, four first-place votes), the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant (428, one first-place vote) and Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant (190).

Well done, Derrick.
Now let's go get this ring.

Bulls Set For Game 1, Thibodeau Wins Coach of the Year

Photobucket

This weekend, Bulls Head Coach Tom Thibodeau was named the 2010-2011 NBA Coach of the Year, joining the ranks of Johnny "Red" Kerr (1967), Dick Motta (1971) and Phil Jackson (1996). This is a major accomplishment mainly because winning this award in a rookie campaign has only been done six times before this year and in doing so, he also guided the Bulls to the best record in the NBA.

Hawks at Bulls, Game 1 @ 7:00 pm.

Bulls Finish Pacers, Set For 2nd Round

Photobucket
Man, it took us long enough.

Even though we were able to beat the Pacers by 27 points last night, we still didn't play consistently throughout the First Round series. Heading into the Eastern Conference Semis, we're going to have to continue to get big games from Derrick Rose, keep up our dominant team defense and get an actual contribution from Carlos Boozer. Last night's highlights:

Regardless, we're onto the next one. Bring on.....Atlanta.

Or Orlando.

Photobucket
Sorry, Roy. Maybe next year.

Bulls Earn #1 Overall Seed. Unh.

Photobucket
With their win over New Jersey and the Spurs' loss to the Suns last night, the Bulls have taken control over home court advantage for the entire playoffs.
This is huge.
Mainly because of the added confidence to our young team and also for some much-needed momentum going into the playoffs.

Oh yea, and there was one more thing about last night's game at United Center....Scottie Pippen and Ron Harper were there. Yea. That Ron Harper.
Photobucket
Random but at the same time, it makes perfect sense. Somehow.

We open up the 2011 playoffs this Saturday at home against Indiana at 1:00 pm.

Let's go, Chicago.

Today, in "The Bulls Win Again" News...

Photobucket
...the Bulls win again.

This time it was against the Orlando Magic and I was surprised we even played so hard considering that we already locked up the #1 seed in the East. D.Rose dropped 39, making Jameer Nelson look like a damn fool in the process. The win also improved our record to 60-20. And that's nasty. Check the highlights:

Here's an interesting stat for you:

Not getting ahead of myself. Just take from that what you will.

Bulls Defeat Celtics, Remain in First Place. Unh.

Photobucket
Derrick Rose dropped 30 points, 5 rebounds and dished 8 assists to lift the first place Bulls over the Celtics last night in Chicago.

There was a whole lotta this,
Photobucket
and this,

....and especially this last night.

First. Place.

Definitely didn't predict this at the beginning of the season, but I'm definitely looking forward to the playoffs.
Unhhh.

The NBA Playoffs Have Been the Jealous

Photobucket
As much as it pains me to say, I was rooting for Lebron and the Cavs to win the Championship this year after they knocked off my Bulls but ever since they went out, the playoffs have been BORING. Each round I've found myself saying, "Man, this round sucks but next round bout to be dope." I've been disappointed each time. Take these conference semis for example. Going in, I was thinking both the Lakers/Suns and the Magic/Celtics had the chance to be epic...but I was wrong. There were, however, a couple of highlights from last night's game, such as the death of Grant Hill's ankles:

My Response:

And for your gif image pleasure:

Another crazy highlight was Shannon Brown's near epic/fatal posterization of Jason Richardson:
Photobucket
That picture looks Photoshopped like shit....but it's not.

And the last, and possibly funniest image from last night's game was....AC Green??
Photobucket
He had a striking resemblance to this sketch from the Chris Rock Show:
Even though it's only been one game each, I think the Conference Finals are over and we're set for a Lakers/Celtics rematch. I'm sure that will leave Steve Kerr and all the Suns fans feeling like this:

Is it football season yet??????

So THIS Is Who the Cavs Got Murdered By Last Night???

Photobucket
Word, Lebron?? I got you guys winning this whole thing now that the Bulls are out but I'm gonna need more than 15 points on 3-14 shooting. You're the MVP and it's going to take an MVP-type performance to win in Game 6. You can believe that I'll be front row for this joint, popcorn in hand like:
Photobucket
Game 6 in Boston is tomorrow at 8:00 on TNT. Don't miss it.

It might be Lebron's last game as a Cav...

Bulls/Thunder Each Win Game 3...We Have a Series..well two.

Photobucket
Put those damn brooms away. The Bulls shocked a lot of people [but not me] by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers last night in Chicago. Sure, Lebron had 38, 10 and 8 but Derrick Rose had 31, 7 and the W. Let the Bulls fans say:
Photobucket

We still have a lot of work to do to get the series to 2-2 but at least we know it's possible. Check the recap from last night:
The Thunder also got their first win of the series against the Lakers last night in OKC. Kevin Durant [29 & 19] and Russell Westbrook [27 & 8] balled fucking out last night. Even as a Kobe fan, you can't help but root for KD and Westbrook. Definitely the future of the league. And I KNOW I wasn't the only person that got geeked when they saw the #thuglife picture of Kevin Durant on ESPN's homepage:
Photobucket
Thanks Bulls and Thunder. That was quite unjealousing.

Quite unjealousing indeed.

Apparently the Orlando Magic Don't Give a Fuuuuuck...and Larry Brown Doesn't Like It.

Photobucket
These are the words that Larry Brown had for reporters before last night's playoff game between his Charlotte Bobcats and the Orlando Magic. And THIS ↓↓ is how the Magic warmed up before the game haha
Following that vocal motivation from their coach and that disrespectful warm-up from the Magic, the Bobcats MUST have used it in the game....right???

Well...here's how the game went down:

The jealous for the Bobcats.

Oh well. Bulls game tonight IN Chicago.
Lehgo.

[Note: Vince Carter still got it and this is unrelated but quite hilarious: link.]

Bulls, Thunder and Heat Can't Escape the Jealous...Trail 0-2

Photobucket

The NBA playoffs have started off pretty much disgusting...and according to most people's plans. But not mine. I was REALLY fucking hoping predicted that the Bulls could at least strike some sort of fear in the Cavs this year; no such luck. My main upset for the first round was the Heat over the Celtics...we all saw how last night turned out. And that was WITHOUT KG. And then we have the Thunder. I thought that the youngest scoring champ in history could at least do a little damage against even the Lakers. NO DICE. I'm starting to reconsider changing the name of this blog to asamp was wrong.

And I hate to be wrong.

Come on BullsThunderHeat, don't jealous me and all the upset seekers.

[Note: The Bucks are also down 0-2 to the Hawks but I saw that one coming.]

Bulls Earn Playoff Spot...Collision Course With King James

Photobucket
So we've done it. By winning our last three games the Bulls were able to secure the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Just imagine how elated I was to see this this morning. ↓↓
Photobucket

Seems harmless right?? Well not completely. We've just set a collision course for the best team in the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Well damn. But Bulls fans, don't let it get you down. We're 2-2 against the Cavs this year and Lebron only missed...one of them. However far-fetched it might seem, we DO have a chance against the Cavs. Otherwise, why would they play the games?!?! [Insert sarcastic answers here.] Check out the highlights from last night's game against the Charlotte Jordancats and pay close attention to what Brad Miller does at 1:21 or just click here hahaha

Let's do the impossible, Bulls.

At least be nice to Lebron so he considers Chicago for a home next season.
Please.

Purple Reign.

Photobucket
Mamba and the boys finally did it. Last night the Lakers finished off the Magic and won the Ship. This gave the the Lakers their 15th championship and Phil Jackson a record 10 championships. But even more wavy, it gives Kobe his fourth. I'm just happy that Kobe was able to get this ship with or without Shaq. And my boy the Machine got some BURN last night [Any one peep him get that dunk waaaay after the ref blew the whistle?? haha.] Kobe ended up with a mean ass stat line: 30, 6 and 5. Good shit Mamberrrr.

Man, even Andrew Bynum's bum ass decided to show up.
This calls for some pictures.

Mamba with the Larry O trophy. Courtesy of Tiffany's.

"You cannot steal trophy from Machine, silly."
Photobucket
Magic's suit was atrocious. [RT @RealSkipBayless: What is Magic's suit made of? Satin? Shark skin? Fired up like he's still playing for the Lakers. Sweating like it too.] hahaha
Photobucket
Iz u mad??

Mamber x Lil Swish Fish. Vets.Photobucket
Well done, fellas.

What now?? BASEBALL?????? Smh.

Game 4 - Kobefest 09: One. Win. Away.

Photobucket
Mamba and the boys came back from a double-digit deficit to take a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Magic last night. Kobe led the way with 32 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and the Lakers also got a big game from the new Scottie: Trevor Ariza. Towards the end of the first half, Kobe was the only offense that the Lakers had until Ariza went on a streak to keep them within striking distance. Even though the Lakers went into the half down by 12, without his scoring it would have been much worse. And I thought my boy D.Fish was getting old as hell after he started the game 0-5 from three until he hit the biggest shot of the series by draining 2 consecutive threes to keep the Lakers alive and getting them to overtime. Overtime belonged to the Lakers as the Magic resorted to one-on-one basketball and Dwight Howard continued to miss free throws. I definitely like Dwight as a player...but only when he's not going against the Bulls or the Lakers. The Lake Show cruises and they're one win away.
Photobucket
Super duper splashy.
