Leonard Fournette Is Staying Home [Rap Squats & Respectful Bows All Around!]

 photo awrfournette_zpsb548aca9.jpg
I knew it all along. I swear.

There's no way that good ol' Leslie Edwin could let arguably the biggest offensive recruit in recent history that just happened to be from Louisiana, leave the state for his collegiate career...is there? Yesterday I actually entered the day extremely somewhat optimistic that LSU would go 5 for 5 with the remaining recruits at the Under Armour All-American game. And I wasn't the only one.

Well, 5 for 5 didn't happen. But we did get two, including the the #1 overall prospect, Mr. Buga Nation himself, Leonard Fournette.

And I couldn't be more excited. Why am I so excited? Don't believe me, just watch:

See? He's Adrian Peterson 2.0. He's currently a man among boys. When he gets to LSU he'll be a man among young men. And besides, he does rap squats.

Leslie Edwin strikes again.

LSU vs. Alabama 2013. I'm Ready.

 photo 7344199c-dad5-4475-b87e-9d760b4a697a_zps5762fe6b.jpg
Game of the Century Part....5?

Now that my Bears handled business against the lowly Green Bay Packers Monday Night (Don't taser me, bro!), I can now focus all of my energy on the other game I circle every year: the showdown against Alabama. It seems this game always has some kind of national championship implications, and this year is no different. I also just really hate the team, school and brand of Alabama. Come to think of it, there's really only a few teams that I really and truly hate: the Green Bay Packers, the EA Spartans, the Detroit Pistons, the Indiana Pacers. But none of them come even close to my hatred for Alabama. I mean, what's not to hate? And with all of this "Saban to Texas" talk, I'm actually hoping he sticks around. Nah, let me stop lying. Geaux Tigers.

Official prediction: LSU 38 - Alabama 27. We'll use this win to propel us to the Top 10 in the BCS and paired with our upcoming win against A&M, we'll represent the West in the SEC Championship. Stamp it.

Also, Les Miles is a mad man. Gotta love it.

(6) LSU at (9) UGA. Man, Oh Man.

 photo 1e846118-5e66-4607-a975-3ef6ef5d9bd3_zpsd2857781.jpg
LSU. Georgia. Biggest game of the year....to this point. (I'll probably say that at least four more times this year.) We're a little over an hour until kickoff but it's never too late to get hype. I'm expecting big games out of Jarvis Landry (8 catches, 85 yards), Jeremy Hill (115 yards, 2 TDs) and Zach Mettenberger (225 yards, 2 TDs) in Zach's first return to Athens since 2010. Georgia's offense will be able to move the ball but their defense will have no match for the most improved quarterback and offense in the SEC. Official prediction: 31 - 24 LSU. WRITE THAT DOWN, Georgia fans. Here we go!

So yeah, it doesn't look like I'll be making the trek to Dallas for the LSU/TCU game after all [still holding out hope, though] but I'm exhilarated just the same. I think we all can agree that it's just time for football to get started. That being said, it's clearly probably too soon to start with score predictions but I'm putting my first one out there: LSU over TCU 30 - 17. You heard it here first. [This score will most likely [read: 100%] change by kickoff, especially if TCU decides to ever name their starter at QB.

Bring on the Frogs, breh. We have no worries.

Whoo! We're inside of a month until LSU/TCU at Cowboys Stadium. I'm hype. And it seems like TCU is having trouble keeping players around. Interesting. Anyway, we're 25 days away. We're right on time for some hype videos. Enjoy.

Um, about those tickets....

Holy Shit, Jarvis Landry.

Photobucket
En route to a thrilling 20-13 win over Arkansas, sophomore wide receiver Jarvis Landry came up with arguably the catch of the year.
Holy shit.

And although all hope seems lost, I'm still crossing my fingers for the Sugar Bowl and not the god-forsaken Capital One Bowl.

LSU vs. Bama 2012 - Part 2 [...Kind of]

Photobucket
I'm ready for this.

My parents are ready for this.

My Grandparents [really should get] ready for this.

The biggest game of the 2012 College Football season is about 30 hours away and I'm way too dialed in. My Tigers have the unique opportunity to get back in the National Championship hunt all while avenging last year's loss and inflicting pain on bitter rival Alabama. Whew. The last time I was this hype over a sporting event it was LSU vs. Bama 2012 Pt. 1. And unfortunately, we all know how that turned out.

Just in case any LSU fans [and you Alabama fans—I know you're out there] need an extra motivational boost, just check the video below. Man.

Tigers. Please don't kill my vibe.

FINALLY. THE REMATCH IS HERE.

Photobucket

It’s here. It’s finally here.

Well first off, Happy New Year all. I've basically been on an extended blog break since the holidays but I'm finally making my triumphant return. And for very good reason. Tonight, January 9, 2012 at 8:00 pm EST, my LSU Tigers are up for their third National Championship since 2003 [and perfection] against the hated and bammish Alabama Crimson Tide. Less than a week after getting spurned by arguably the nation’s top safety prospect—and fellow Dutchtown High School alum—Landon Collins, we’re set to make history as the greatest football team in history. I’m aware that that’s a pretty bold statement, but I’ll stand by it. [Trust me, I’ll explain another day in another post.] Regardless, tonight’s the night. If you’re looking for me, I’ll be the shorter fellow sporting the purple and gold “BEAT BAMA AGAIN” t-shirt.

And I’ll be slightly drunk.
OK, I'll be really drunk.

Whether you're going for the Tigers or the Tide, this video should get you hype:

Oh, and about Landon Collins, the battle isn't over. Here are words from Randy Rosetta himself:
Photobucket
I'll take that.

And seriously, could you imagine the Coaches' Trophy in these hands?!

GEAUX TIGERS!

The Rematch Is Set. Let's Go.

Photobucket
Well, we are who we thought we were.

Now that we've successfully dismantled UGA in the SEC Championship, LSU had earned a chance to play for the national championship on January 9th. Although it's somewhat shitty that Bama gets to play in the ship, I'm looking forward to beating them again.

January 9th. New Orleans. I'm there.

The 5 Most Memorable Moments From Week 1 of College Football [Besides Maryland's Jerseys]

Photobucket
The University of Maryland pretty much stole the show from the rest of college football when they unveiled one of their new uniform combinations against Miami Monday night. I'm sticking with my statement that the flag-themed helmet are dope and the jerseys are alright from the front view but just plain hideous from either side. Regardless, this post is about everything noteworthy from this past week of college football not having to do with Maryland's tribute to um, Maryland.

5. Joe Adams Dropped Punt Return Touchdown/Evan Spencer's One Hand Catch

EGHCK. I realize that Missouri State and Akron aren't what we'd call great teams but these are still impressive. Like reeeally impressive.

4. Brian Kelly Is Quite Possibly the Angriest Human Alive
Photobucket
I'm not sure whether it was the impending home loss to unranked USF, the red zone interception or just a case of the Saturdays but Brian Kelly needed more than a chill pill this weekend. Thanks to Dr. Saturday for this one.

3. Robert Griffin III is a PROBLEM.
359 yards and five touchdowns against TCU? EGHCK. He should definitely end up a dark horse candidate for the Heisman.

2. Kerwynn Williams' Barber Should Be SHOT...in the face.
Photobucket
This haircut is an absolute debacle. He looks like a cross between Simon Phoenix from Demolition Man and a Golden Lord from Meteor Man. Seriously, how can he even do this interview with a straight face??

1. LSU Handles Business Against Oregon, Jumps to #2 in AP Poll
Photobucket
Amazing defense, punctuated by great plays from Tyrann Mathieu helped LSU against a loaded Oregon team. We still have a long season ahead but with this strong start, we have even higher hopes of finishing the season in New Orleans. And this kid Mathieu is a monster.

Gonna be another great season of College Football.
Geaux Tigers.

LSU > Bama. As If You Didn't Already Know...

Photobucket
I'm a couple days late due to being busy at work but HOW BOUT THEM TIGERS??? Saturday night in Baton Rouge we were able to knock off our bitter rival the Alabama Crimson Tide 24-21, giving us our marquee win of the year and ruining the Tide's chance to repeat as National Champions.
This is pretty much what happened:
Batonrougehangover_medium
The play of the game in my opinion was this reverse on 4th & 1 in the fourth quarter:
Yea u right. Check out the other highlights:
The win puts us at the mercy of Auburn because we need for them to lose twice in order for us to have a shot at the SEC Championship and consequently a shot at the National Championship. It's definitely a long shot but it's also light years away from Les Miles being on the hot seat. Not too bad.

But what might be bad is Les Miles' latest eating habit...eating grass.
Les Miles. A guy who eats grass and occasionally loses track of time.
But hey man, whatever it takes.
Whatever it fucking takes.

The Win That Almost Wasn't.

Photobucket
"A win is a win."

For the first time in my football career, as an athlete or a fan, I disagree with this statement. We ended this weekend's game against Tennessee with more points than the Volunteers, but we still lost. Just in case you missed the craziest ending I've ever seen in a football game:

Wow.

I really don't know what to say. We're at 5-0 and undefeated but we could easily be
3-2, if not worse. I really hope that Jordan Jefferson can regain his starting spot and that our defense can keep us in games because Florida's gonna be tough this weekend.

But I can't REALLY complain. We're 5-0, ranked 12th and 9th and in first place in the SEC West. Besides that, Saturday's crowd of 92,932 was the fifth largest in school history. We get some continuity on offense and remain undefeated and...

Tennessee WR: "Peterson's Not Superman."

Photobucket
Oh word??

University of Tennessee receiver Gerald Jones was quoted as saying this about LSU's [long shot] Heisman-hopeful, Patrick Peterson:

"I watched film on them for two hours (Monday) because I was so eager. I am so ready for No. 7. I am ready for him... To be honest, I think a lot of people fear him because he’s so big. He’s 6-2, 220. He’s a pretty good athlete. He has his weaknesses, too. He’s not Superman. I’m going to give him my all, and it’s going to be a battle come Saturday."

Well. All this coming from a guy that's missed the last three games with an injury?? Has he not been watching Patrick Peterson all season?? Might get ugly for the guy.

Also, Patrick Peterson is currently #1 in the Fan vote for the Heisman. Help vote him in here!

Patrick Peterson for Heisman.

Florida and Bama Dominate All-SEC Teams

Photobucket
Well damn.

Florida and Alabama continued their dominance of the SEC this year by having 10 and 9 players on the All-SEC First and Second teams, respectively. This doesn't come as much of a surprise as the two teams finished undefeated and 1 and 2 in the SEC. LSU had 5 players make the cut. Bama also had the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year as well as Coach of the Year. [Ingram, McClain and Satan Saban]

asamp was...uh...MISINFORMED

Photobucket
So I guess Tebow IS human. And the only reason I have a picture of him for this post and not a jubilant Alabama team is because I REFUSE to put any pictures of Bama celebrating on my blog.

I refuse.

But even with that, good luck to the Tide. SEC superiority all day.
Photobucket

Oh yeah, and Ingram for Heisman. Early.
