Music of the Moment - August 23, 2008 [Part Two]

OK. So it was definitely worth having two Music of the Moment posts today. When I started looking for the Tracklist for T.I.'s Paper Trail, the joint "Swagger Like Us" immediately caught my eye. My candidate for Song of the Summer. It's Kanye, Jay-Z, Lil Wanye and T.I. on the same joint.

Epic to say the least.

[Note: Great use of the M.I.A. sample too. Paper Trail is gonna be tough.]

Jay-Z is back.

And he brought Kanye with him.

Supposedly this is the first track leaked from Blueprint 3 that's due out later this year. What do I have to do to get a Kanye verse?! Definitely feeling this joint. The shit is hard.

Um, that's also one of the things she said.

Music of the Moment - August 21, 2008

So back when Nas put out Hip Hop Is Dead back in 06, Young Jeezy made comments against the title of the album and even questioned Nas' street credibility. It seems that the two have put their past behind them to collab on the song My President Is Black for Jeezy's new album, The Recession. I'm glad that the two of them were able to put everything behind them and focus on the important thing: good music. Jeezy's album is dropping on September 2 and includes features from Nas, Kanye West and Jay-Z.

Check out My President Is Black.

Aight, Some Parents are Dumb...

So I've been away from the blog for awhile, but this story I stumbled upon the other day was very blog-worthy.
So most people know that I'm pretty fond of video games, namely Guitar Hero. But would I ever drop out of 10th grade to play Guitar Hero professionally?? That's what this kid did. 16 years old?? Damn. So now this kid is supposed to grow up and have a prosperous life as a professional gamer after dropping out of the 10th grade. Makes no sense. This is sending a bad message to kids and young video game fans everywhere. And the funniest part was when they listed his past winnings: "gift certificates, gaming equipment and chicken sandwiches." hahaha

Man, some parents are dumb.
