Biggest Game of the Year...for the Big 12.

Aight, I don't have much time to post this so I'll get straight to the point. The Big 12 aint shit. Nah, they're good but I usually could care less who wins what in their conference. This is the first year since Vince Young played that I really paid attention to any football out there but it's for a really good reason. The offenses are AMAZING. There are about 5 or 6 Heisman candidates on the offensive side of the ball...but the defenses are terrible. So with tomorrow's game being the biggest game of the year for the conference, I'm going with #2 Texas Tech over #5 Oklahoma. This was a really close decision but I'm giving the edge to Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree, especially with Oklahoma missing two of their starting defenders out for the game.

There will be little to no defense played so I'm expecting a shootout. Bradford's gonna go for 300+ yards but Harrell will go for over 400. Crabtree's gonna go wild tomorrow too. And with all that said...SEC all day.

Oh and Penn State's not losing to Michigan State. Sorry Ohio State.

[Yeah, it's a video game picture...but it's gonna happen. Boomsooka.]

[Double] Music of the Moment - November 18, 2008

So first off, the birthday weekend was amazing. Seeing family is always good and I'm glad I got to show my boys how LSU gets down on Game Day. Even my big bro made his way home for the weekend. The game was a beast...but that's another post.

With the week-long celebration for my 22nd birthday being officially over, I figured I'd put out 2 songs today. Both of them are from, you guessed it, Kanye's next joint, 808's & Heartbreak. The album is dropping next week and I'm hype as shit. Here go two more joints.

[Note: Tell Everyone You Know might not make the final cut. We'll see.]

Yurp, It's the Birthday...

Man, 22 seems so old...but I'm here. But with all that, I'm still thankful to be alive and healthy for my 22nd Birthday. Now it's on to B.R. to be with the fam. If you're gonna be in Baton Rouge this weekend, hollaaaaaa!! Toe, what up?!

Big Weeks Ahead. Oh, and basketball too...

This year in college football has been just as up-and-down as it has in the recent past. The #1 spot, which has not been the place to be, has been pretty good to Alabama as they've been able to hold onto it for the past few weeks. Texas Tech was able to shit on beat Oklahoma State 56-20 to stay at #2 and Texas beat Baylor to remain at #3. No real surprises here. But, the next few weeks are going to be huge for these three. Bama should coast against Mississippi State but their rivalry game against Auburn is always a big game. And not to mention these statements said by Auburn's Brad Lester. Never a good idea, yo. Especially when your team sucks. [Right Mauri??] If Bama can win these two and take down Florida in the SEC Championships, they should be more than capable of not only going to the National Championship, but they should considered the favorite. [Note: I could even go as far to call Bama/Florida the real National Championship.] Texas Tech's biggest test will be this weekend against #5 Oklahoma. The Sooners have a lot to prove after losing to a then-#5 Texas in the middle of the season. Graham Harrell's Heisman, along with a shot the National Championship, lie in Saturday's game in Norman - the biggest game in Tech history. And now, on to Texas. Despite having the distraction of a racist teammate, the Longhorns might have the easiest remaining schedule to get to the Championship. Baylor, an overrated Kansas team and Texas A&M are all that remain between Texas and the Big 12 Championship. Since the winner of that game will be Texas, Oklahoma or Texas Tech, they should be the other team in the National Championship.

With that being said, I'm going with the SEC team. Even though it burns my football soul, I'm going to go with Bama or Florida in the Championship, especially since it will be most likely be against a Big 12 team. SEC pwns.

>

And with that being said...NCAA basketball has begun!! ...and UNC is preseason #1. While that might seem like a good thing, the preseason #1 has gone on to win the NCAA Championship only 2 of the last ten years. 20%?? Can the Tar Heels beat history?? We'll see. The USA Today Top 10 as it is now:
1. North Carolina
2. UConn
3. Louisville
4. UCLA
5. Duke
6. Pittsburgh
7. Michigan State
8. Texas
9. Notre Dame
10. Purdue

Should be a great year of College Hoops.

Beat Bama '08

It's no secret that I fucking hate Alabama. Not as a state, come on now...but as a football team. Right now, they're the number one team the country and have the Devil calling the shots for them. Nothing, I repeat, nothing would make me happier than to knock of Bama while they're at the top of their game. A loss here would remove Alabama from the National Championship picture and own Nick Saban at the same time. Can't beat that. Come on Tigers. It's also Saban's first game in Baton Rouge since he left for the NFL. The Tigers' defense needs to show up big to stop an offense that hasn't been tested much this season. This is also the last real test that Bama will face before the SEC Championship. We're not used to being the spoiler, but we're up to the challenge.

Yes. We. Did.

"It was all a Dream." Even though these are the words that the late Notorious B.I.G. used to open one of his most famous songs, it's the same way my mother described her experience last night. I don't think I've ever been so proud to be, not only an African-American, but an American. Yesterday, November 4, 2008, history was made. Barack Obama was elected as the first African-American president of the United States of America. Man. And he did it in record fashion. According to ChicagoTribune.com, "with 97 percent of precincts reporting nationwide, Obama had secured nearly 63 million votes, the largest total in history. He led McCain 52 percent to 46 percent in the popular vote--the highest percentage of any Democratic presidential nominee in 40 years." The article also went on to say that "turnout experts estimated more than 64 percent of eligible American voters cast ballots, the best showing in at least 40 years--and in one estimate, since 1908." That's huge. It really goes to show that anything in this world is possible and that young voters really can make a difference. And even though it seems that this election has polarized the country, I'm confident that the majority of Americans will come to see that we have made the right choice for our Commander-In-Chief. I mean, would you really have been confident with John McCain and Sarah PALIN calling the shots?? It's good to see that morals and values overpowered greed, deceit and even racism. I am truly proud of Barack Obama and more than happy that I am represented by such an eloquent, impressive, and strong Black man.

Obama 08. Yes we did.

The Day is Here. Finally.

It's November 4th. The day of all days. I've waited for what seems like forever for this day to come and it's turned out pretty much how I thought it would: A call from my mom telling me how excited she was, a bunch of text messages and commercials reminding me to vote and just an overall sense of anticipation from everybody.

I voted last Friday and it was honestly one of the most powerful things that I've ever done. I got there early as hell and I was still #431 to vote. By like nine o'clock there had to be like 13 hundred people crammed in the Adamsville Recreational Center. I waited for almost six hours to vote, but it was more than worth it. Just me being able to have this experience is something that my grandparents never thought they would see. So I know you've heard it a thousand times already, but PLEASE go vote. For many of us, this is the first time we've been able to vote. And with such an important election, why would we not go vote?? People sacrificed everything, including their lives, just so we would have this opportunity.

So I won't tell you who to vote for, but just vote for somebody. And with that being said.....OBAMA 08.

Music of the Moment - November 4, 2008

Now I'm not the biggest T-Pain fan. I actually don't really like his music that much at all. But this new joint he has with Kanye is a banger. It's kind of catchy and I'm almost positive that everyone can relate to Ye's verse. I know I can... Check it out.

Down. Goes. Georgia....and Dallas. Again.

I've been waiting since the UGA/Bama game to say that again, but thanks to Georgia, I can say it again. Georgia got fucking owned by Florida on Saturday in Jacksonville, 49-10. Thirty. Nine. Points. Damn. Oh well, no championship for you.
LSU took care of business against Tulane and has a HUGE chance to upset Bama this weekend as the Tide are #1 in the nation for the first time in school history. I really think that we have enough athletes, defense and enough hatred for Nick Saban to pull out the upset. Nothing would make me happier than to spoil the season for Bama.

All football fans from Texas should KILL THEMSELVES. Not necessarily because of of the Longhorns, who fell short but put up a good fight in one of the best college football games of the year. They managed to come back on Texas Tech and only left them 8 seconds to retaliate. They only needed seven. Not to mention that Michael Crabtree is a MONSTER and the best receiver in college football. Man, getting pushed out of National Championship contention sure can make you concerneddddd. But what can you do when Graham Harrell goes 36 for 53, 474 yards and 2 touchdowns?? ...you lose, that's what you do.

[Note: And the Texas Tech student section dressing like the Joker was tight as shit.]

But back to Texas football fans committing mass suicide...the Cowboys lose again?!? Now, I've never been the biggest Cowboy's hater but uh, Super Bowl champs?? Not when your record is looking very Ravens-like...

Oh well, Rex Grossman is BACK!! ...but not like he never left.

Sorry Dallas fans. Don't mean to hurt you but....U MAD.
