Music of the Moment - September 30, 2008

Kings of Leon.
Is.
Back.
Kings of Leon is already one of my favorite bands, but they have outdone themselves with this one. Their last album, Because of the Times was amazing and their new joint,Only By The Night is no different. Check out my favorite song from the album, Sex On Fire.

[Note: Album Review for Only By The Night coming soon.]

Gas Tank on F...Can't Tell Me Nothin!!

This gas crisis in Atlanta is insane right now but after a couple days of hovering over E, I was [finally] able to get some gas this morning. It cost me almost $60 and an entire Corp class, but I made it happen. Balling.

Random song, but fuck it it's all good.

Down Goes Georgia...and Florida...and Everyone Else.

Damn man. It was a big weekend for College Football...well, football in general. After USC got embarrassed by Oregon State, three of the top four teams in the nation lost as well. The most impressive of the upsets wasn't really much of an upset. #8 Alabama put up a HUGE [that'swhatshesaid] 31 unanswered first half against #3 Georgia en route to a 41-30 win...in Athens. [Note: The score doesn't really indicate how much Bama outplayed UGA.] Earlier Saturday, #4 Florida lost to an unranked Ole Miss team. The Rebels just looked better than Florida when it came down to it and even more noteworthy, the game was at the Swamp. Michigan rallied from a 19-0 deficit to upset #9 Wisconsin at home while Clemson got shocked (again) by Maryland [What up, Mook?!]. So much for a shot at the 'ship. After everything was said and done, nine of the top 25 teams lost and six of those losses were to unranked teams. Damn. This really shows that the level of talent in college football is growing and being spread out. There's no clear cut #1 for the second year in a row, which I think is best for college football.

At the end of the day, USC is now #9, Georgia fell to! #11, and Florida is at #12. Oh well. Oklahoma is the new #1, followed by LSU, Missouri, Alabama and Texas. [Note: I'm going by the Coaches' Poll because it has LSU the highest...]

Flicks from Saturday's games...

Hey USC, UGA, Florida, Wisconsin, Illinois, Wake Forest, Clemson, East Carolina and TCU....you loooooose!!

And speaking of upsets, how about Da Bears over the Eagles?! You loooooose!

Great weekend for football.

Hey USC, You Lose

Sorry LA. You go from being on top of the College football world and then a mere three hours later, you get beat by Oregon State. Oh well. The Beavers were led by true realassnigga freshman Jacquizz Rodgers and his 186 yard/2 touchdown performance. The 21-27 USC loss is the best thing to happen for many teams, including the Tigers. I expected the Trojans to blow a game at some point during the season but I don't think anyone expected it to happen in their first Pac-10 game. This also improves the chances of mad teams with championship hopes. If UGA can knock off Alabama tomorrow, then they should hope over Oklahoma at #2 be back at #1. Where an SEC team belongs. Yurp.

The Quizzman

Hey Pete Carroll, you lose.

Music of the Moment - September 23, 2008

Lupe is back. The Paris, Tokyo remix is hot as shit. Lupe x Pharrell x Q-Tip x Sarah Green. Sweet.

Sorry Auburn...

Well, I'm not really sorry. LSU looked like shit bad in the first half and we went into the locker room down 14-3 at the half. After our starting QB got knockedthefuckout in the third quarter, our backup Jarrett Lee (who threw a pick-six in the first half) came in...and he was BALLIN. After starting 0-5, Lee threw a mean ass Touchdown to Brandon LaFell and got in his rhythm. Then we rolled the dice and got an onside kick. Long story short, we got the ball down 20-21 with about 4 minutes left. On a third and long from AU's 18, we passed instead of running and scored on another pass from Lee to LaFell. Ballin. Now Auburn has the ball with a minute left and got stopped on a mean ass three-and-out. My man Charles Scott 132 yards on the ground and was the first LSU running back in history to amass over 100 yards at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game was full of big plays, none smaller than my man Keiland Williams throwing a touchdown pass to D.Byrd in the first half. Greatest game of the year so far. But only because we won.

[Got some pictures from the game for all you Auburn fans.]

Auburn, you lose.

Clash of the Tigers

It's finally that time. One of my favorite rivalries in the SEC is taking place tomorrow as my LSU Tigers take on the Auburn Tigers. Boomsooka!! It's the definition of a defensive game but I'm more than confident that LSU can pull it out. (That'swhatshesaid.) Sorry Mauri. LSU 21, Auburn 10. Yurp.

[Note: I also have UGA beating Arizona State and Florida beating the shit out of Tennessee today. SEC all day.

Ohio State vs. USC...My Prediction

It's less than an hour to game time and I'm finally making my prediction: It's not gonna be a pretty one for Ohio State. Sorry Dre. While I don't think this is going to be a four touchdown win, I think that without Beanie Wells, Ohio State loses a lot of fire power. Terrelle Pryor might be able to make some kind of an impact but USC's just gonna be too good. Without Wells, I have USC winning by at least 14. [Note: It's probably going to be more like 21.] Sorry Columbus, you lose.

You lose.

My man
Kanye.
Does.
It.
Again.
Damn.

Hopefully you caught some of the VMAs the other night on MTV. Normally, I could care less that the VMAs are on but when I got wind that Kanye would be performing a new joint as a finale to the show, I knew I couldn't miss it. Let's just say he didn't fucking disappoint. Check out Love Lockdown. I'm guessing it will be on his next album, 808s & Heartbreak, due out in December.
[Note: This is also a strong candidate for Song of the Summer. Yup.]

[Note Part Two: I originally had the Live version posted, this is the CD quality version. Enjoy. (Sept.14)]

Let's Go Bears

Aight, I'll admit it...I wasn't looking forward to playing the Colts in Week 1, with or without a full-strength Peyton Manning. But the Bears did their thing. We finally got our revenge from the Super Bowl and we looked fucking awesome pretty good doing it.

Colts, you lose.
