Damn Lebron.

Photobucket
I'm still kind of pissed that Lebron and the boys got knocked out the other night. I really think that he was playing INSANE basketball and I was looking forward to a Kobe/Lebron finals but it's not gonna happen now. I don't know if it's worse that the Cavs didn't make it to the finals, or that the Kobe/Lebron Nike joints pretty much have to stop now. Damn. Fuck it though. Mamba for Finals MVP. But before I blog about Lebron for the last time this season, check out his best from the 09 playoffs.
[Note: Even though the Cavs got beat by the Magic, Lebron has said that his stauts with the Cavs hasn't changed. Not sure I believe him, but the Cavs better hope he's for real.]

And I don't wanna hear SHIT about beating Lebron and the Cavs from Orlando "fans." Or else you're gonna get Charles Hamilton'ed.

King James...That Is All

Photobucket
34, 14 and 12.

Lebron balled tonight but HOW else did you expect him to play in an possible season-ending game?? I'm glad that the Cavs were able to pull this one out and keep their championship hopes alive. More importantly, Lebron is really performing the big stage. Can't be mad at that.
Got niggas lookin like:
I'm also convinced that if that if the Cavs can win the 'ship this year, then Lebron will stay in Cleveland instead of heading to New York. Why build a team and win a Championship to move to another city and do it all again. But after all....it is just Cleveland.
But...at least it's not Detroit.

Aight. Kobe Handled His Business. It's Your Turn Lebron

Photobucket
Last night Kobe and the Lake Show got a very important win in Game 5 back in LA. The score was back-and-fourth all game but the Lakers edged the Nuggets late to get the W. I'm hoping that Lebron and the boys can make it happen tonight. It's actually funny because I was expecting the exact opposite: for the Lakers to struggle and the Cavs to blow out the Magic. I guess if we could predict em, they wouldn't play em. I just hope my Kobe/Lebron finals doesn't end TONIGHT.

And I'm not even mad that the fucking Candy Man Lamar Odom had a pretty good game even though I'm starting to really not like him. He even managed to serve up the Birdman. [nh]

Photobucket
And if you're wondering, yes I do still hate Nene.
And his plats.

Let's go Lebron.

This is REALLY Getting Annoying...

Photobucket
Again, even after a 44 point performance from King James, Dwight Howard and the Magic defeated the Cavaliers last night, and took a 3-1 series lead. This is really starting to piss me off. Mainly because I'm both a Kobe and Lebron fan [Yes, we exist] and I want to see them go head-to-head in the Finals. That really wasn't too far fetched about a month ago but now it's looking like it's going to take a miracle and a half just to get ONE of them into the Finals. The Magic just look unstoppable in the East and anytime you end up with Luke Walton guarding Chauncey Billups...no good sir. I'm just saying, let's stop the b.s. Kobe and Lebron. I need a W's from both of you so that I can at least salvage the rest of these finals and get what we all want. Because NObody wants to see Nuggets/Magic in the finals. Not even Stan Van Gundy aka the clown from Spawn.
Word son.

Come on Kobe and Lebron:

Damn Damn Damn Cavs

Photobucket
You guys refuse to make this easy, don't you??

Lebron still dropped 41 but Dwight Howard and Rafer Alston were on point last night. I think the Cavs really might have underestimated the Magic going into the series, but now they're seeing how real they are. Can't say that I blame them but they need to step it up before Dwight gets his first shot at the Finals, and not Lebron.

I'm really starting to get pissed. The Magic better not fuck up mess up this Kobe/Lebron Finals...but they might. Doesn't anyone notice this?? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Don't let me down Lebron.

Just In Case You Thought It Was A Game...

Photobucket
...it's not.

Lebron shows us again why he's the MVP with 35 points and the game-winning three pointer at the buzzer. Fucking crazy.
I guess that my Kobe/Lebron Finals might work out after all.
It better.

Music of the Moment - May 22, 2009

Photobucket
Definitely been away for awhile but I'm finally back. And I have some new music for you. Back in February I posted the song Island by the group The Whitest Boy Alive. Back then I said, "just get past the name"...and I'm saying the same thing now. Their music is pretty dope despite the name. Check out their new joint 24K and also a video of their live performance in London.
And I know it's only giving a 30 second preview,
so check out the video.  ↓ ↓

Wavy.

Yo, I Really Can't Wait

...because this shit looks hilarious. It seems to be like Dude, Where's My Car? but for an older audience. I even read that since it's directed by the same people that did Old School, there's even gonna be an appearance from this guy. That's worth the price of admission right there.

June 5th.
Owwwww.

This Has Gone On Far Too Long...

Photobucket
Wow. That's What you call a hiatus. I haven't been away from the blog for this long since I started it. And mad shit has happened:
  • The Lakers held on in Game 1 against the Nuggets....but then lost in Game 2.
Despite big numbers from Kobe, the Lakers just didn't execute down the stretch in the second game. Derek Fisher was a horrible 1-for-9 from the field and 1-for-5 from three. Numbers like that will not cut it, especially when you're looking at Chauncey Billups on the defensive end.

And while I'm on the subject, where did all these Nuggets fans come from?? I mean, seriously. A lot of you came out of the woodworks but if you've been a fan since day one then:
Photobucket
But chances are, you haven't been.
  • The Cavs somehow lost their first game of the entire playoffs to an underdog Magic team.
I'm still shocked by this one. Mainly because of how fucking beastly Lebron was playing. He did everything: scored, distributed, rebounded. Wtf Cavs?? I've said it already and I'll say it again: If the Magic or Nuggets mess up my Kobe/Lebron Finals...heads will roll.
  • Jake Peavy had one foot in Chicago but ended up refusing the trade from the Padres to the White Sox. Oh yeah, then we suffer our worst loss in team history. Fuck. Not a good day for the Sox.
Photobucket
I'm still a little pissed about the Lakers and Cavs right now but at least I'm back. Music/Sports coming up.

Music of the Moment - Senior Week Edition

Photobucket
Senior Week has been Legendary to say the least. It's been pretty much the sole reason I haven't been updating the blog very often. But give me a break, it's SENIOR WEEK!! Most of the week has been a blur but a visit from the Parentals today is gonna be dope since I haven't seen them in forever.

So in the spirit of Senior Week, I thought I'd post some college-related music. It's coming from the first rapper Jay-Z signed to his Roc Nation imprint, J.Cole. His music is college related because the North Carolina native was also a 2007 St. John's University graduate and often includes his college days in his music. I heard about him a couple months ago and his mixtape, The Come Up is pretty good. It's actually really good. People are already comparing Cole to Drake but I'm staying away from the comparisons. Even though they have similar suburban, middle-class backgrounds, I just see them as two hot rappers with something to say. You can download his The Come Up here. Check it out. And also peep one of my favorite joints from the mixtape called College Boy. And it's over a Kanye beat. Oww.

Also, check out the trailer for J.Cole's next mixtape The Warm Up.
It's gonna be dope too. Andyaknowdaaaat.

I Mean, AirTran Might Be Dope...

Photobucket
Some early-morning Twittering led me to an online article in the ajc via @necolebitchie that said that AirTran Airways plans to be the first airline to offer free high speed internet access on every flight. The article also said that the airline plans to be in full effect by the end of July. Whoa. That's dope right?? So for people like me, that need the internet to BREATHE, those long flights won't be so bad anymore. I'm trying to check out the flight schedule now.

Now these x-fare flights are gonna be extra wavy. Owwwwwwww.
Photobucket

[Note: I just read elsewhere that the service won't be free. Fuck. Still dope though.]

Double Music [Video] of the Moment - May 11, 2009

Photobucket
These joints from Weezer definitely aren't new but they always remind me of having FUN. Summer is finally here and so is Senior Week so it's time for a celebration. Andyaknowdaaaat.
Troublemaker

Island in the Sun
I guess I still like Weezer even though they were lame and wouldn't clear the Say It Ain't So sample in I Love College. Whatever.

Lakers Get Embarrased in Game 4. Well Damn.

Photobucket
I'd be lying if I said I expected the Lakers to play so poorly in Game 4. The shorthanded Rockets were missing Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady [like that matters] but still managed a 29 point lead during the game. Who really saw this coming?? It ended up being a 12 point win for Houston, but it wasn't even that close. Aaron Brooks fucking balled with a career-high 34 points and he even made a couple Lakers look stupid in the process:
So with that being said, why are the Lakers having trouble knocking out the Rockets even without Yao and McGrady?? What is the missing link??  The answer is easy...I know you all know it. The answer is none other than SHAQUILLE O'NEAL. Now, I'm not saying that the Lakers can't win a championship without Shaq, they came close to doing it last year. But it's obviously that it would have been so easy for Kobe x Shaq x Phil to win at least 3-5 more Championships had they stayed together. And by NO WAY am I making this a whole "Kobe ran Shaq out of L.A." conversation. The Kobe fan in me [pause.] wouldn't allow that. I'm just saying...remember the Good Ol' Days.
[Note: Shaq is still in the running for funniest nigga in the league.]
Photobucket
...remember the Good Ol' Days.

Love You, Ma!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mothers out there....and the not-so wonderful Mothers too, I guess. Found this via @aplusk. Yurp.

[Note: If this isn't my brother and me, then idk what is haha]

Music of the Moment - May 9, 2009

Photobucket
Aight, I'm back on my alternative shit. This group, Dinosaur Pile-Up, is still pretty new but I've been able to find some good music from them. The one that caught my ear first was their most popular song, My R&R. The trio from Leeds is still unsigned but they've already launched their 2009 tour. I wish they'd make it over here to the United States but I won't hold my breath. Check out their joint My R&R [Rock & Roll] and also a video of the drum cover for the same song. Yup.

Oww.

Don't Believe the [Chicken] Hype...

Photobucket
So everyone [literally everyone] has heard about the coupon for the free grilled chicken at KFC that Oprah sponsored. I mean, black people everywhere heard about it and they were like:
Photobucket
Yeah, sounds all good right?? Wrong. And I'm not even speaking on the arguing, fighting and even riots that have occurred over the chicken; I think there might be an even bigger issue. I know people have seen Undercover Brother and if you have, I know you remember en The Man's plan to use fried chicken to distribute a mind-controlling drug to the black population. ↓ ↓
Hmm. Not so far fetched now is it??

Who knows what could be behind this nation-wide free chicken campaign??
It might be as bad as the chicken causing everyone who eats it to turn into chicken-craving zombies or something. Who knows?? It's been insane around here. The KFC by my crib had a line of cars more than half a mile down the road. People were even parking their cars on Cascade and walking all the way to KFC to wait in a lobby packed with people. The one by campus had to limit the deal to dark meat and only mashed potatoes. Today at Wal-Mart this dude even tried to sell me his coupons for a dollar apiece since you can't download them anymore. This is wild. I've decided not to take part in this whole free chicken thing. It's weirding me out too much. I might end up on May 20th as the last unzombified person alive!

I mean, stranger things have happened.
Wait, no they haven't. But still.

[Note: And why did it have to be KFC?? Why couldn't Oprah give America free Subway for two weeks?? Hmm...Owwuch.]

Music of the Moment - May 7, 2009

Photobucket
Owwie. Cinco de Mayo went stupid, fruity, futuristic so I had to follow-up with some equally dope music. And surprise, it's from Kid Cudi. If you're not down with him yet, you're buggin. His debut is definitely on my list of Most Anticipated Releases of 09. Check out this joint from his latest mixtape, Dat Kid From Cleveland called Rollin' feat. Jackie Chain. And yes, it's a Gucci sample. Can't beat that.
[Note: And it's pretty much the theme song from the past week. Cuz I ain't slept in weeks. Ow.]

Cerverza, Por Favor....

Photobucket
Yeah, it's Cinco de Mayo and I'm done with finals. You know what that means. Tacos y cerveza y tequila = El Oww. Tonight should be a blast even though not every one is finished yet. It's definitely the drinker's holiday, so we must celebrate. We have plans for the night but I'm not sure if we should hit Chipotle during the day or hit an authentic Mexican restaurant. Any suggestions?? Oh well, Viva La Mexico y Feliz Cinco de Mayo. Hopefully the night ends up looking like this:
Well, everyone have fun tonight, because I know I will. But be safe too; don't take it too far....esta que ella dice.
El owwwwww.
[Note: This video isn't even Mexican or about a Mexican story, but it sounds like it. And Sublime is the shit...oh, and Deebo is in it. Fuckin Sancho.]

Back Like I Never Left/The Season Ends...

Photobucket
Sorry for the brief hiatus, school's really been kicking in. But it's almost over....forever.

My Bulls ended up losing to the Celtics in Game 7 in Boston. Damn. We really played well throughout the series and it sucked to go out like this. Ben Gordon had a big 33 to lead all scorers but it wasn't enough. During the playoffs D.Rose played beyond his years and the Miller/Salmons trade proved to be really big for us. The worst part of the whole thing might be that had we gotten past Boston, we would have had a real chance to beat Orlando in the second round. wtf. I'm disappointed we had to go out like this, but after the greatest series in NBA Playoff history, I can't be too mad.

Oh wait, yeah I can.
Fuck Boston.

Now I don't have to watch any basketball until Kobe vs. Lebron in the Finals. Uh oh.

I'm crossing my fingers.

Greatest Game Ever?? ...Yeah, I Think So

Photobucket

Did I call this or did I call this??

Last night's Bull/Celtics triple overtime thriller was on of the most entertaining sports events I've ever witnessed. And that's NO hype. I was literally on the edge of my seat from the beginning of the fourth quarter to the last second of the third overtime. Three overtimes though?? I was definitely two Ray Allen three pointers away from having a conniption, but we were able to pull this one out. There were so many big plays from D.Rose, John Salmons, Ben Gordon and everybody, but two big plays really sealed the deal for us. The first big one was Joakim Noah's mean ass dunk on Paul Pierce. Not only did it put us up by 2 with 35 seconds left, but it gave Paul Pierce [aka Mr. Aardvark] his sixth foul. And when I say "dunk on" I mean "murderlize." Just check it out. There are no words:

Holy fuck. I still can't believe he did that. Noah's gained so much respect from Chicago fans throughout this series and that was definitely the exclamation point. I guess I can finally forgive him for this:

Anyway, back to the second huge play from last night. It would have to be the defensive stop that D.Rose put up against Rajon Rondo on the Celtics last real chance to tie up the game. I knew he had it in him. Not only were the Bulls finally able to put the clamps down on Rondo, but hopefully his struggles will continue in Game 7. Check the D:

I'm definitely proud of my Bulls but our job is definitely not over. We've proven that we can not only play with the Celtics, but we can win in Boston. Game 7 should be extra wavy. Seriously. Max B agrees ↓ ↓
