What Could Have Been...

Even though we got smacked lost to UGA this past weekend, it still comes as a relief to me to see Knowshon Moreno get OBLITERATED by Tennessee safety Eric Berry. Please take a look at this...

Knowshon Moreno, you just got JACKED UP!!

Oh yeah, but we still lost.

And I'm back...

Midterms and Homecoming got me off my awr game, but I'm back.

Aight,
-LSU and Ohio State lost.
-Texas (1) and Texas Tech (5) play this weekend.
-The NBA kicked off the regular season last night and my boys (Kobe, Lebron and D.Rose) had solid games....but the highlight of the night was Paul Pierce fucking crying at the ring ceremony.
-The Phillies ended up winning the World Series last night. [But...who cares??]

That's pretty much for sports until the weekend and I'm still pretty bummed that LSU is out of both the SEC and NCAA title races.....but at least we're not Auburn...

Auburn, you lose.

Biggest Games of the Year

LSU/UGA. Penn State/Ohio State. Oklahoma State/Texas.

All huge games this weekend.
LSU and UGA are fighting for their National Championship lives as the loser of the game is probably out of the hunt for good. It's not likely that either team would recover from a second loss at this point. The game should be close but LSU's defense, that did not show up against Florida, WILL show up at home against Georgia. Knowshon about to get Know yards on Saturday. That was a good one, huh?? Plus, scheduling LSU in Death Valley at night is pretty much asking for an L. The Tigers have a .773 win percentage at home which is pretty fucking good
I have Alabama on Upset Alert against TENNESSEE. Normally, I hate Tennessee but anybody is better than Bama. Anyone.

As for the Big 10 showdown, I'm going with Ohio State even though it will be a close one. I also have Texas over Oklahoma State in a high scoring contest.

And my last pick of the day is Morehouse over Albany State??? Damn. Why schedule Albany State for homecoming?? Oh well. Go Tigers.

[Note: LOL at Kirk Herbstreit's son crying when Lee Corso pulled him on tv hahaha]

This Weekend Was a Little Better [Thank God]

So last weekend was one of the worst football weekends of my life after both of my teams fucking lost. But this weekend was different.

LSU rebounded from getting murdered beat by Florida by squeaking past South Carolina in Columbia. Big win going into this weekend against those bamas at UGA. And my Bears had another impressive win against Adrian Peterson and The Vikings. We really needed this one after losing to the Falcons last week.

The biggest surprise in the NFL this weekend has to be the "new and improved" Cowboys getting pwnd by the RAMS?!? Yeah, those Rams.

And last but not least, Morehouse lost to Clark...but we know they cheated.
Hey, at least it's Homecoming '08!!

Morehouse vs. Clark 2008

We need to beat Clark today. There's no other way to look at it. Watch out for a big game from my boys Achille Hendje (89) and Jeff Cargile (29).

Sorry Clark, you lose.

What. The. Fuck Hell. Cowboys??

So, in one week the Cowboys lose their starting quarterback and starting corner and at the end of the week the team is....better?? Days after losing Tony Homo Romo for weeks with a broken finger and Pacman Jones indefinitely for being a nigga an alcohol-related altercation, they get Roy Williams, [The good one], from the Lions. What?! The trade didn't come cheap (a first, third and sixth round pick) but it still benefits the Cowboys. The addition of Williams not only takes away the defense's ability to double cover T.O. but it will also open up the field for Marion Barber on the ground and Jason Witten through the air. Even without Tony Romo for the next few weeks, Dallas will be dangerous, much to the delight of Cowboys stans everywhere.

[Note: Pacman could really be in trouble this time. Some experts say he's played his last game as a Cowboy and possibly in the NFL period. Damn.]

Music of the Moment - October 15, 2008

Chad Hugo doesn't always get all of his credit as the mastermind behind the Neptunes production duo. I first realized that he just might be the brains behind the operation when I heard Kenna's two albums in which the majority of both albums was produced exclusively by Hugo. The same goes for this remix to a My Party from one of my favorite bands, Kings of Leon [With the help of Kenna on the beat.] Chad pretty much proved that a remix doesn't need guest appearances or a more intricate beat to be hot by leaving the vocals alone and stripping the original beat while adding the Neptunes feel to it. The unusual mix of KOL and Chad Hugo is fucking amazing. Check the joint out.

And also, check out one of my favorite Chad Hugo-produced joints from Kenna, Freetime.

Music of the Moment - October 14, 2008

T-Pain's career could be over.

Hate if you want about Kanye using AutoTune for the majority of his new songs, but the shit is hot. Check out a clip from, Heartless, the second leaked song from 808s & Heartbreak, due out November 25th.

Sick LT/Polamalu Nike Football Commercial: "Fate"

Wow. This is the realest fucking commercial I've seen in a MINUTE. It details the lives of LaDainian Tomlinson and Troy Polamalu from birth all the way up to adulthood and a collision on the football field. It's the first of many Nike Football commercials with the theme of Fate. Not only that, they set it to a stripped down version of Jay's "Blueprint 2" [or "L'estasi dell'oro" by Ennio Morricone]. Check. This. Joint. Out.

Bears...You Let Me Down Too...

Down by 9 with four minutes to go.
Kick a field goal to reduce the deficit to 6.
Score a 17-yard touchdown to go up 1 with 11 seconds left.

11 seconds left.

Then in that little time, you allow a kickoff return to happen, a 24-yard pass to be completed and a 48-yard kick (to win the game) go thru.

Are you serious??

Bears, you let me down too.

The fucking worst weekend in football I've had in years. I lose.

At least Orton's playing well. Vikings next week...damn.

Oh well, look at the bright side, at least the Cowboys lost. Oh, and Romo's out. So I guess Cowboy stans lose too.

What. Have. We. Done??

Damn. Damn. Damn. We got UGA'd, Ohio Stated, Missouried.

Now that we (LSU) and Missouri got pwnd lost, we've opened the door for fucking Bama and Texas to be the top two teams in the country. I would say more but I don't want to talk about it.

BAMA at #1???????
...this is a bad day for College football.

I feel you little guy...
Great, Bama fans rejoice.

Daily Annoyances - October 11, 2008

Annoyance: Bad drivers that insist on talking on the phone while they drive.

This has been a longtime pet peeve of mine but today it got worse. This dumb ass dude was in front of me driving from lane to lane, almost hit a CHILD then slammed on the brakes at a yellow light. It took everything in me [no homo/thatswhatshesaid] not to get out of the car and MURDER him. And that was before I even realized he was on the phone. I don't really have a problem with bad drivers, but when you're bad because you're on the phone...it should be legal for me to kill you.

And to add to that, he was on a big giant ass bluetooth. Bluetooths are about as cool as Karl Kani jeans. No more, please.

Talk to em, Prince.

Kanye West - Love Lockdown Video

It's here.
Finally.
And despite all of the flack Ye's been getting from using AutoTune, I'm feeling it.

After all, he has been using it since College Dropout.

>

You lose.

Music of the Moment - October 8, 2008

"Rebel for the hell of it/
Hella rich/Never have to sell a brick again/
Must I tell a bitch again/
The bullshit I'm addressin' check I'm on some next level shit/
Never been fucked in the game, I'm celibate/
Rarely out my element/Barely out the ghetto with
One foot and one foot in as intelligent as fellas get/
Listen, let's settle this, be clear I could fall back seven years
And still ain't no one ahead of me..."

-T.I., I'm Illy, Paper Trail

Aight, so I went and copped Paper Trail. Let me first say that it's pretty good. Tip has a lot to say and the beats are insane. He even sounds hungry as shit on the album. My favorite joint [besides Swagga Like Us] on this one so far is I'm Illy. Tip is going mad hard on this joint. That'swhatshesaid. Check it.

[Note: Paper Trail album review coming soon.]

This Weekend in Sports...Orton = MVP...for the day.

First off...Kyle Orton for MVP. Aight, that's a stretch, but he balled yesterday. Career-highs in passing yards (334), completions (34), completion percentage (70.6) and QB rating (121.4). Damn. The 34-7 road win was, by far, the best game of his career but it was against....the Lions. Hey, a fucking win's a win. [Note: Did you SEE Marty Booker's lefty one-handed catch?? Peep It. Definitely one of the best catches of the year.] Other shocking games include Atlanta beating Green Bay @ Lambeau, the Dolphins embarrassing the Bolts at home and Washington knocking off Philly in Philly. But the biggest surprise of the weekend was Tennessee improving to 5-0. It was against the Ravens, and it was without Vince Young. Who saw that coming at the beginning of the season?? [Not you.]

On to college...Oklahoma pwnd murdered Baylor to stay at number 1, Bama squeaked by Kentucky, Mizzou smacked Nebraska, blah blah blah. Not that many upsets this week. The first thing that caught my eye was Vandy over Auburn. Now, I hate Auburn as much as the next guy, but I definitely thought they were going to beat Vanderbilt. But hey, if they knew who was going to win then they wouldn't play the game. [Right, Austin??] And what about them Illini boys owning Michigan at the big House. [Burns don't it??] Oh, and North Carolina beat Connecticut...in football.

In ALDS news...the White Sox fought to win their first game of the series against the Devil Rays to stay alive. Well damn. Next game is tonight at 5 in Chicago. Let's go Sox.

In other news, Candice Parker won Rookie of the Year and MVP...in the same year. Damn.
And the Detroit Shock swept the San Antonio Silver Stars in the WNBA Finals and was the first team in history to do so.
And nobody knew about it...

...or cared.

Music of the Moment - October 3, 2008

Curren$y is back. After getting sonned by Wayne and a summer full of mixtapes, the former Sqad member is back with a new joint named Fin.... It's basically the same old Curren$y mixtape with a few stand out joints. My personal favorite is "Who Nose" which uses the slow breakdown from N.E.R.D.'s "Everybody Nose." Really a hot joint. Check it out.

Game 1.....Let's Go!!

The [Chi] Sox take the field against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays today in Game 1 of the ALDS, the day after the Cubs got smacked 7-2 by the Dodgers. Oh well. Let's go Sox.

[Note: Kelsey, you lose.]
