So Yea...Kings of Leon Have BEEN Dope.

Kings of Leon have honestly been around since around 1999 but they're really just recently getting the recognition they deserve. They did take home three Grammys last month though. With that being said, their second studio album, Aha Shake Heartbreak is the complete and utter unjealous. I didn't really hear about KOL until I heard Because of the Times so I did some searching and came to find that Aha Shake was just as good. It was even named by Rolling Stone as one of the Top 100 Albums of the Last Decade. Pretty beastly for a fairly unknown album. Here are my favorite two songs from the album, Taper Jean Girl and Rememo. Taper Jean Girl was even featured in Cloverfield, Entourage and the Shia LeBeouf joint Disturbia. Check the link. Haven't posted shit anything in a sec. Been busy with work and shooting this movie. [Ow.] This should get me thru until tomorrow. I mean, you can't go wrong with Kings of Leon @ Lollapalooza.

Music of the Moment - January 23, 2009

The Mash-Up that I posted for yesterday MotM got me in the mood for more mashes and remixes so when I heard a remix from one of my favorite bands, Kings of Leon, I had to post it. It's a remix of Knocked Up from Lykke Li, a Swedish singer with a lot of covers under her belt. Her debut dropped last February and she's been featured on numerous albums and songs since then. She's also on the new N.A.S.A. single Gifted with Kanye West and Santogold. She's definitely making good music and I wish I would have found out about her earlier. Owww.

Music of the Moment - October 15, 2008

Chad Hugo doesn't always get all of his credit as the mastermind behind the Neptunes production duo. I first realized that he just might be the brains behind the operation when I heard Kenna's two albums in which the majority of both albums was produced exclusively by Hugo. The same goes for this remix to a My Party from one of my favorite bands, Kings of Leon [With the help of Kenna on the beat.] Chad pretty much proved that a remix doesn't need guest appearances or a more intricate beat to be hot by leaving the vocals alone and stripping the original beat while adding the Neptunes feel to it. The unusual mix of KOL and Chad Hugo is fucking amazing. Check the joint out.

Kings of Leon is already one of my favorite bands, but they have outdone themselves with this one. Their last album, Because of the Times was amazing and their new joint,Only By The Night is no different. Check out my favorite song from the album, Sex On Fire.
