Two Reasons I Can't Listen to the Album Version of Heartless

Photobucket
I was riding to 808's & Heartbreak yesterday and I got to Heartless but I couldn't even listen to it all the way through without thinking of these two versions. The first is a drum cover but the kid is niiiiiice. Never really heard a drummer cover a song so well since Travis Barker did it...twice. I mean three times. But remember, this time it's a KID. Just to see how nice his is, check out his Viva La Vida cover he did. Dope. The second version was by the band The Fray. They did an acoustic cover while on BBC's Live Lounge Radio 1 show. Also quite dope. I pretty much listened to both of these versions all summer last year but I felt like bringing em back. Check em out.

Damn, I love covers.

Good Ass Job, anyone????

Kanye West: Coldest Winter [Video]

Photobucket
Since he ditched this year's Grammy Awards, we haven't heard much from Kanye West. Until today, that is. He's recently been in the studio working on his much-anticipated fifth studio album. I'm positive it's going to be dope, just like all of his others and Drake has also been quoted as saying it will be "one of the best hip-hop albums in the last 10 years." I'm not mad. This video, however, is the latest from 808s & Heartbreak, entitled Coldest Winter. Definitely one of my favorite tracks from the album even if it was damn near straight from the Tears for Fears joint Memories Fade. Shit's still kawld. Peep:
Can't be mad at new Kanye. The new album is about to be the major unjealous.

[Double] Music Video of the Moment - June 4, 2009

Photobucket
How long have we been waiting for this?? I've wanted a video for Spaceship since my junior year of high school, and it's finally here. The video is a perfect representation of the song. Kanye and GLC pissed working at the Gap, 'Quence buying some polos, and the snookups in the dressing room. Word has it that the Kanye-directed video was shot back in '04 but dude to his dissatisfaction he decided not to release it. Well he did. Not only that, but Kanye finally released the official version of Paranoid starring a very fine Rihanna. Can't be mad at that.
Spaceship

Paranoid

Seems pretty wavy to me.

Music [Video] of the Moment - April 24, 2009

In the midst of being disappointed by a my squad in Chicago, someone else from Chicago saved the day. Finally, Kanye's video for Amazing feat. Young Jeezy dropped. And did I mention it's a Hype Williams joint?? Very wavy indeed. And 'Ye has been doing mad production and guest appearances lately. I'm not mad.

Yeezy's back.
Uh oh.

Double Music [Videos] of the Moment - April 10, 2009

First off, last night at Sabor was pretty ill. [Shouts to MJ. You were right.] Me and Jinx rolled up there and it felt like damn near the entire senior class was there. Even Brandon Lafell was there. Yeah, that Brandon Lafell. Cool dude, could have been a first-rounder, but I'm fucking glad he's coming back this year. Aight, back to last night. The girls were on point, all of my people were in there and they weren't really bustin heads for drinks. I think we might be addicted to the club again. This can't be good. On to the music. Two new videos for today. I peeped the first one on Kanye's blog and it' a fan video for Street Lights off of 808's & Heartbreak. It's pretty dope too. Peep Street Lights directed by Mills Miller. Ow.

This joint is from another artist from G.O.O.D. Music, Mr. Hudson. You probably don't realize it, but you've been listening to Mr. Hudson and the Library for a sec even if you don't realize it. He was on a number of joints off of 808s & Heartbreak providing vocals and production. G.O.O.D. Music has a lot of good shit coming out. [Shouts to Hil.] Check out the video for There Will Be Tears from Mr. Hudson.
Hopefully tonight won't suck just because last night was ill. Oww.

Music [Video] of the Moment - February 18, 2009

It's about time that Kanye dropped another video from 808's & Heartbreak. I was kind of hoping for Street Lights to be the next single but hey, what has Kanye done recently that I've really agreed with?? The last month or so, he's made a couple of questionable decisions that have left me looking like:

Photobucket
But the music is question-free. Check out the video for Welcome to Heartbreak featuring Kid Cudi.

And the band The Fray recently dropped a cover of Heartless that was definitely worth a post.

[Also, check out
How to Save a Life. It's a life-changing song. Owwie.]

[Double] Music of the Moment - November 18, 2008

So first off, the birthday weekend was amazing. Seeing family is always good and I'm glad I got to show my boys how LSU gets down on Game Day. Even my big bro made his way home for the weekend. The game was a beast...but that's another post.

With the week-long celebration for my 22nd birthday being officially over, I figured I'd put out 2 songs today. Both of them are from, you guessed it, Kanye's next joint, 808's & Heartbreak. The album is dropping next week and I'm hype as shit. Here go two more joints.

[Note: Tell Everyone You Know might not make the final cut. We'll see.]

Music of the Moment - November 6, 2008

Another joint from 808s & Heartbreak is out. Blah, Blah, Blah I know all of you guys hate the AutoTune, but I like it. Check out Any Way, in all of its AutoTune glory.

Music of the Moment - October 14, 2008

T-Pain's career could be over.

Hate if you want about Kanye using AutoTune for the majority of his new songs, but the shit is hot. Check out a clip from, Heartless, the second leaked song from 808s & Heartbreak, due out November 25th.

Kanye West - Love Lockdown Video

It's here.
Finally.
And despite all of the flack Ye's been getting from using AutoTune, I'm feeling it.

After all, he has been using it since College Dropout.

You lose.

Music of the Moment - September 10, 2008

My man
Kanye.
Does.
It.
Again.
Damn.

Hopefully you caught some of the VMAs the other night on MTV. Normally, I could care less that the VMAs are on but when I got wind that Kanye would be performing a new joint as a finale to the show, I knew I couldn't miss it. Let's just say he didn't fucking disappoint. Check out Love Lockdown. I'm guessing it will be on his next album, 808s & Heartbreak, due out in December.
[Note: This is also a strong candidate for Song of the Summer. Yup.]

[Note Part Two: I originally had the Live version posted, this is the CD quality version. Enjoy. (Sept.14)]
