LSU vs. Alabama 2013. I'm Ready.

 photo 7344199c-dad5-4475-b87e-9d760b4a697a_zps5762fe6b.jpg
Game of the Century Part....5?

Now that my Bears handled business against the lowly Green Bay Packers Monday Night (Don't taser me, bro!), I can now focus all of my energy on the other game I circle every year: the showdown against Alabama. It seems this game always has some kind of national championship implications, and this year is no different. I also just really hate the team, school and brand of Alabama. Come to think of it, there's really only a few teams that I really and truly hate: the Green Bay Packers, the EA Spartans, the Detroit Pistons, the Indiana Pacers. But none of them come even close to my hatred for Alabama. I mean, what's not to hate? And with all of this "Saban to Texas" talk, I'm actually hoping he sticks around. Nah, let me stop lying. Geaux Tigers.

Official prediction: LSU 38 - Alabama 27. We'll use this win to propel us to the Top 10 in the BCS and paired with our upcoming win against A&M, we'll represent the West in the SEC Championship. Stamp it.

Also, Les Miles is a mad man. Gotta love it.

LSU vs. Bama 2012 - Part 2 [...Kind of]

Photobucket
I'm ready for this.

My parents are ready for this.

My Grandparents [really should get] ready for this.

The biggest game of the 2012 College Football season is about 30 hours away and I'm way too dialed in. My Tigers have the unique opportunity to get back in the National Championship hunt all while avenging last year's loss and inflicting pain on bitter rival Alabama. Whew. The last time I was this hype over a sporting event it was LSU vs. Bama 2012 Pt. 1. And unfortunately, we all know how that turned out.

Just in case any LSU fans [and you Alabama fans—I know you're out there] need an extra motivational boost, just check the video below. Man.

Tigers. Please don't kill my vibe.

The Rematch Is Set. Let's Go.

Photobucket
Well, we are who we thought we were.

Now that we've successfully dismantled UGA in the SEC Championship, LSU had earned a chance to play for the national championship on January 9th. Although it's somewhat shitty that Bama gets to play in the ship, I'm looking forward to beating them again.

January 9th. New Orleans. I'm there.
Unh.

LSU > Bama. As If You Didn't Already Know...

Photobucket
I'm a couple days late due to being busy at work but HOW BOUT THEM TIGERS??? Saturday night in Baton Rouge we were able to knock off our bitter rival the Alabama Crimson Tide 24-21, giving us our marquee win of the year and ruining the Tide's chance to repeat as National Champions.
This is pretty much what happened:
Batonrougehangover_medium
The play of the game in my opinion was this reverse on 4th & 1 in the fourth quarter:
Yea u right. Check out the other highlights:
The win puts us at the mercy of Auburn because we need for them to lose twice in order for us to have a shot at the SEC Championship and consequently a shot at the National Championship. It's definitely a long shot but it's also light years away from Les Miles being on the hot seat. Not too bad.

But what might be bad is Les Miles' latest eating habit...eating grass.
Les Miles. A guy who eats grass and occasionally loses track of time.
But hey man, whatever it takes.
Whatever it fucking takes.

Florida Rockin the AP.../Perriloux at it AGAIN???

So I guess Florida's gonna be good again this year.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Tebow and the boys are on a mission to repeat as National Champs and apparently a lot of people think they will. In the Associated Press' Preseason Top 25, the Gators received 58 of 60 first place votes -- the most in the history of the poll. Hot damn. Texas got the other two first place votes but it really doesn't matter. As far as the SEC goes, Bama came in at #5, Ole Miss snuck in at #8 [overrated], LSU came in at #11 and Georgia rounded it out at #13. Not too bad. Bama has a chance to go pretty far and I feel like my Tigers are a sleeper this year but I'm not too convinced on Ole Miss and UGA. They still have a lot to prove in my opinion.
Photobucket
In other "Can't Get Right" news, Ryan Perriloux [the former #1 ranked QB in high school football and LSU signee] just got suspended for the season opener for his team Jacksonville State. Apparently he violated some team rules and will be forced to sit the game out. His season debut will be the following week against Florida State. Talk about wasted talent. He actually still has all the talent in the world, he's just been making really bad decisions. When I was in high school, we went against this fool in 7 on 7 and he was literally the best quarterback I've ever played against. I still feel like he can make it to the league one day if he cleans up his act and settles down some. Real talk, had he done the right thing last year he would have been our starting QB and we wouldn't have gone 8-5. But everything happens for a reason. I wish him all the best but DAMN bro.

More sports after the jump.

Sweet 16 Preview [Part 2]/Wale x UCB Concert @ The Loft

Yesterday's picks didn't really go to well for me.
Duke had no answer for Nova's guards and couldn't make a shot into the ocean. [Seriously.] The Blue Devils
shot fucking horrendous from the field. And even worse, the same three point shooting that got them to this point really let them down as they only shot 5-27 from behind the arch. Nova balled, Duke didn't.

Oh Memphis. Damn. Purdue tho???

Photobucket
I'm still shocked over this one because it felt like an easy pick. The defense for Memphis just didn't show up. They gave up 100 points for the first time in the John Calipari era. The first time...and in a game of this magnitude. Tyreke Evans balled like I thought he would [33 points] but he didn't get much help. Oh well. Hope you don't have them winning it all. Because then you lose.

Now onto the second half of the Sweet 16:
  • Game 1: Arizona (12) vs. Louisville (1), 7:07 pm
This one is pretty easy to predict. Louisville is the #1 overall seed for a reason. Terrance Williams balls and he is about to go off tonight. I think if they still had Jerryd Bayless they would have a shot. But they don't. Sorry 'Zona.

Game 2: Syracuse (3) vs. Oklahoma (2), 7:27 pm
I'm gonna have to go with 'Cuse on this one. I have this on my bracket and I'm sticking by it. Jonny Flynn is going to show Willie Warren how to be a premiere college point guard. Ow. Devendorf and Rautins are gonna knock down every shot they see. Blake Griffin's gonna get his insane numbers but I'm not sure his supporting cast will really step up against this tough-minded Syracuse team.
  • Game 3: Kansas (3) vs. Michigan State (2), 9:37 pm
I'm going with my man (nh) from back home, Sherron Collins and the returning Champs on this one. Michigan State doesn't have the firepower in my opinion, even though they have some pretty tough defense. Fuggg it.
  • Game 4: Gonzaga (4) vs. North Carolina (1)
Another easy one to call. UNC is really about to blow out Gonzaga out with this one. I know Lawson is about to show that his second half against my Tigers was not a fluke. And who, exactly, does Gonzaga think is about to hold Tyler Hansbrough? Danny Green?? Wanye Ellington???? Come on Bulldogs. Carolina by 10+.

I'm thinking that might picks for tonight are more secure than last night's. I'm goin 4-0 tonight. Ow.

Oh yeah, and Wale x UCB Concert tonight at the Loft. Owwwwww.

Too bad I won't be seeing any of these games, or the Wale joint because I'm hitting up with Hawks/Celtics game tonight with Wonderboy and the boys. Watch out.

[Note: And it's so f'ing messed up that Kentucky fired Billy Gillespie after just two years. It's damn near impossible to turn a program around in two years with limited scholarships. That's part of the reason what the Devil Nick Saban did in Alabama so special. You gotta be reasonable.]

And just so you know, don't challenge me in a Bracket. Because:

Wavy.

Bowl Game Schedule & Predictions...Owwww

It's been a crazy year for college football and now that the Tide has been ROLLED, it's time to get ready for the Bowl Game Series.

[Note: I'm not detailing all of the bowl games, just the major ones and the ones I'm watching. Owwww.]

December:

  • 31: -MY LSU Tigers vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the Chic-Fil-A Bowl. (7:30)
WTF?? How the hell did we land this one?? I know we had a disappointing year defending our 2007 National Championship, but does that deserve a pairing with Georgia Tech in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GEORGIA?! Damn. I guess us playing in all those Sugar Bowls (7) has come back to haunt us. Even though it's essentially a home game for the Jackets, I still feel like we can beat them in their home state city.

January:
  • 1: -UGA Bulldogs vs. Michigan State Spartans in the Capital One Bowl. (1 pm)
I was probably one of the people least surprised by Georgia's mediocre season, but it's I still have faith in them against Michigan State. Don't get me wrong, Javon Ringer could cause some problems but I feel like Stafford x Moreno x Massaquoi are even more dangerous. Plus, with this being the possible last game for these three together, I'm looking for big numbers.

  • -Penn State Nittany Lions vs. USC Trojans in the Rose Bowl. (4:30)
Oh damn. This might be one of the games I'm really looking forward to. USC, who has arguably more talent than any other team in the nation, is going against a Penn State team who was one loss away from the National Championship. I have to go with USC on this one. Their roster is too deep (pause) for Penn State to match up with, plus they're looking to prove that this should have been their year. Should be pretty high scoring, for USC at least.

  • -Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Virginia Tech Hokies in the Orange Bowl. (8:30)
This should also be a good one because I'm a fan of Tyrod Taylor. [Especially after they tried to T him]. I know that a 9-4 record from Tech doesn't jump out at you but they lost those four to some really good teams. Also, I think that Cincy might be a little bit of hype. This is the one game that I'm choosing to go with the underdog even though I'm not too sure it's gonna happen.

  • 2: -Ole Miss Rebels vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Cotton Bowl. (2 pm)
I usually go with the SEC team but...Texas Tech is gonna smash Ole Miss in this one. I could have easily seen Texas Tech in the National Championship while Ole Miss has more fluke wins than a little bit. Crabtree is about to go OFF on this overrated defense. Should be one of the more lopsided bowl games this year.

  • -Utah Utes vs. Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl. (8 pm)
This should be another one-sided game. Alabama is another team that could have been in the big dance, but fell short at the end. Utah was able to go undefeated but they really only beat two quality teams. It's hard for me to say it, but Bama fucking killed half of the [SEC] teams they played this year. Bama's gonna give Utah the business by at least 3 TD's. Yurp.

  • 5: -Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Texas Longhorns in the Fiesta Bowl. (8 pm)
I'm not gonna miss one snap of this one. Ohio State has a lot to prove after a couple of trips to the Championship and the first year of a promising, young quarterback, a win over Texas would be huge. Texas, on the other hand, might have even more to prove. They were snubbed by the BCS and were unable to play in the Big 12 Championship, a game that would have allowed them to make it to the National Championship. Led by Heisman candidate Colt McCoy, they are one of the most dangerous teams in the country. This should be a legendary match-up of classic college football teams. But I'm taking Texas. [Sorry Wonderboy.]

  • 8: -Florida Gators vs. Oklahoma Sooners in the FedEx National Championship. (8 pm)
The matchup of all matchups. A fast, quick striking offense facing a powerful and experienced defense. Oklahoma's record-setting offense has never seen a defense like Florida's but at the same time, Florida didn't face an offense like OU's this year. Percy Harvin should be at full strength and we've seen what happens when he is. I'm going with Florida off the strength of being an SEC team and I can't bet against Tim Tebow. I kind of wish it was Florida/Texas, but beggars can't be choosers. Hopefully after he cleans up the country a little bit, Barack will put his foot down and force a college football playoff. Only time will tell.

Should be a fucking awesome Bowl season. Bowlinnnnn'!!

Big Weeks Ahead. Oh, and basketball too...

This year in college football has been just as up-and-down as it has in the recent past. The #1 spot, which has not been the place to be, has been pretty good to Alabama as they've been able to hold onto it for the past few weeks. Texas Tech was able to shit on beat Oklahoma State 56-20 to stay at #2 and Texas beat Baylor to remain at #3. No real surprises here. But, the next few weeks are going to be huge for these three. Bama should coast against Mississippi State but their rivalry game against Auburn is always a big game. And not to mention these statements said by Auburn's Brad Lester. Never a good idea, yo. Especially when your team sucks. [Right Mauri??] If Bama can win these two and take down Florida in the SEC Championships, they should be more than capable of not only going to the National Championship, but they should considered the favorite. [Note: I could even go as far to call Bama/Florida the real National Championship.] Texas Tech's biggest test will be this weekend against #5 Oklahoma. The Sooners have a lot to prove after losing to a then-#5 Texas in the middle of the season. Graham Harrell's Heisman, along with a shot the National Championship, lie in Saturday's game in Norman - the biggest game in Tech history. And now, on to Texas. Despite having the distraction of a racist teammate, the Longhorns might have the easiest remaining schedule to get to the Championship. Baylor, an overrated Kansas team and Texas A&M are all that remain between Texas and the Big 12 Championship. Since the winner of that game will be Texas, Oklahoma or Texas Tech, they should be the other team in the National Championship.

With that being said, I'm going with the SEC team. Even though it burns my football soul, I'm going to go with Bama or Florida in the Championship, especially since it will be most likely be against a Big 12 team. SEC pwns.

>

And with that being said...NCAA basketball has begun!! ...and UNC is preseason #1. While that might seem like a good thing, the preseason #1 has gone on to win the NCAA Championship only 2 of the last ten years. 20%?? Can the Tar Heels beat history?? We'll see. The USA Today Top 10 as it is now:
1. North Carolina
2. UConn
3. Louisville
4. UCLA
5. Duke
6. Pittsburgh
7. Michigan State
8. Texas
9. Notre Dame
10. Purdue

Should be a great year of College Hoops.

We'll see...

Down. Goes. Georgia....and Dallas. Again.

I've been waiting since the UGA/Bama game to say that again, but thanks to Georgia, I can say it again. Georgia got fucking owned by Florida on Saturday in Jacksonville, 49-10. Thirty. Nine. Points. Damn. Oh well, no championship for you.
LSU took care of business against Tulane and has a HUGE chance to upset Bama this weekend as the Tide are #1 in the nation for the first time in school history. I really think that we have enough athletes, defense and enough hatred for Nick Saban to pull out the upset. Nothing would make me happier than to spoil the season for Bama.

All football fans from Texas should KILL THEMSELVES. Not necessarily because of of the Longhorns, who fell short but put up a good fight in one of the best college football games of the year. They managed to come back on Texas Tech and only left them 8 seconds to retaliate. They only needed seven. Not to mention that Michael Crabtree is a MONSTER and the best receiver in college football. Man, getting pushed out of National Championship contention sure can make you concerneddddd. But what can you do when Graham Harrell goes 36 for 53, 474 yards and 2 touchdowns?? ...you lose, that's what you do.

[Note: And the Texas Tech student section dressing like the Joker was tight as shit.]

But back to Texas football fans committing mass suicide...the Cowboys lose again?!? Now, I've never been the biggest Cowboy's hater but uh, Super Bowl champs?? Not when your record is looking very Ravens-like...

Oh well, Rex Grossman is BACK!! ...but not like he never left.

Sorry Dallas fans. Don't mean to hurt you but....U MAD.

What. Have. We. Done??

Damn. Damn. Damn. We got UGA'd, Ohio Stated, Missouried.

Now that we (LSU) and Missouri got pwnd lost, we've opened the door for fucking Bama and Texas to be the top two teams in the country. I would say more but I don't want to talk about it.

BAMA at #1???????
...this is a bad day for College football.

I feel you little guy...
Great, Bama fans rejoice.

Down Goes Georgia...and Florida...and Everyone Else.

Damn man. It was a big weekend for College Football...well, football in general. After USC got embarrassed by Oregon State, three of the top four teams in the nation lost as well. The most impressive of the upsets wasn't really much of an upset. #8 Alabama put up a HUGE [that'swhatshesaid] 31 unanswered first half against #3 Georgia en route to a 41-30 win...in Athens. [Note: The score doesn't really indicate how much Bama outplayed UGA.] Earlier Saturday, #4 Florida lost to an unranked Ole Miss team. The Rebels just looked better than Florida when it came down to it and even more noteworthy, the game was at the Swamp. Michigan rallied from a 19-0 deficit to upset #9 Wisconsin at home while Clemson got shocked (again) by Maryland [What up, Mook?!]. So much for a shot at the 'ship. After everything was said and done, nine of the top 25 teams lost and six of those losses were to unranked teams. Damn. This really shows that the level of talent in college football is growing and being spread out. There's no clear cut #1 for the second year in a row, which I think is best for college football.

At the end of the day, USC is now #9, Georgia fell to! #11, and Florida is at #12. Oh well. Oklahoma is the new #1, followed by LSU, Missouri, Alabama and Texas. [Note: I'm going by the Coaches' Poll because it has LSU the highest...]

Flicks from Saturday's games...

Hey USC, UGA, Florida, Wisconsin, Illinois, Wake Forest, Clemson, East Carolina and TCU....you loooooose!!

And speaking of upsets, how about Da Bears over the Eagles?! You loooooose!

Great weekend for football.
