Plumlee Bros: Doin Work.

Photobucket
Slow down Duke, you killin em.

Not only will he dunk over a group of five, yes, five kids but Miles Plumlee has actually outdone himself by dunking literally over his younger brother Mason at this summer's Duke basketball camp. Five kids is amazing enough but his brother is just a shade under seven feet tall. Check it out:

Pretty dope and it looks like these two might be more athletic than we thought.

But I'm pretty sure my brother Orin and I could do this.

Don't believe me?? Then you can

I Got a [Drunk] Feeling...

Photobucket
During some late night video perusing, my boy Chris and I found a pretty funny video that displays a night that I'm sure a lot of my boys have been through...myself included. The only bad thing is that it's to the tune of I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. And even with how much I hate the "new version" of Black Eyed Peas, this shit was dope. I can't believe I was more than half a year late on finding this.

Yea, we've all been there.

And if you haven't been there, get there. It's Friday.

Music of the Moment - Senior Week Edition

Photobucket
Senior Week has been Legendary to say the least. It's been pretty much the sole reason I haven't been updating the blog very often. But give me a break, it's SENIOR WEEK!! Most of the week has been a blur but a visit from the Parentals today is gonna be dope since I haven't seen them in forever.

So in the spirit of Senior Week, I thought I'd post some college-related music. It's coming from the first rapper Jay-Z signed to his Roc Nation imprint, J.Cole. His music is college related because the North Carolina native was also a 2007 St. John's University graduate and often includes his college days in his music. I heard about him a couple months ago and his mixtape, The Come Up is pretty good. It's actually really good. People are already comparing Cole to Drake but I'm staying away from the comparisons. Even though they have similar suburban, middle-class backgrounds, I just see them as two hot rappers with something to say. You can download his The Come Up here. Check it out. And also peep one of my favorite joints from the mixtape called College Boy. And it's over a Kanye beat. Oww.

Also, check out the trailer for J.Cole's next mixtape The Warm Up.
It's gonna be dope too. Andyaknowdaaaat.

Double Music [Video] of the Moment - May 11, 2009

Photobucket
These joints from Weezer definitely aren't new but they always remind me of having FUN. Summer is finally here and so is Senior Week so it's time for a celebration. Andyaknowdaaaat.

I guess I still like Weezer even though they were lame and wouldn't clear the Say It Ain't So sample in I Love College. Whatever.

Music of the Moment - April 20, 2009

Yeah, it's 4/20. And even though I don't really participate in the all of the festivities but I know someone who does, Asher Roth. His album dropped today and from the joints I've heard so far....I'm diggin it. I'm coppin as soon as I get out of advertising. Fuggggit. The lyrics are still pretty much there: all the happenings of the suburban, upper-middle class lifestyle. It's right up my alley. And he dropped on 4/20 for a reason. There's more talk about drugs than Season 3 of The Wire and more 90's references than an episode of Family Guy. [Those are good things btw.] Whatever though, decide for yourself. Here's Asher's latest video for Lark In My Go Kart. Oh, yeah and the entire album. Oww.

[Note: Peep the ill Saved By The Bell theme. Very wavy indeed.]

Wait, you do know he means Lark In My Go Kart as in Lark Voorhies who played Lisa Turtle on Saved By the Bell, right?? She was bad as hell. This, along with a discussion I had last night, lead me to ask this question: Who would get the sookups first, Lark Voorhies/Lisa Turtle or Karyn Parsons/Hilary Banks???? Hmm...check the poll to the right and go vote!!

And remember people, this is for ALL the sookups.
Owwwwww.

Music [Video/Remix] of the Moment - February 11, 2009

I originally posted Asher Roth's I Love College back in December and it's still one of my all-time favorite college songs. Now, the OFFICIAL video is out and I'm hype as shit. Not only that, but Jim Jones made a remix called I Love Harlem that wasn't too bad. [Even for Jimmy.] So peep the video for I Love College and the I Love Harlem Remix. Yurp.

Music of the Moment - December 16, 2008

Man, I'm slippin. Yesterday someone insisted that awr is strictly a sports blog...incorrect. It has been a second since one of my patented "Music of the Moment" entries so I'm bringing it back. This joint isn't even new but it's from one of my favorite newcomers, Asher Roth. And yeah, he's white, but don't let that hype you. His mixtape, The Greenhouse Effect Vol. 1 was hot as shit. You basically have to take him for what he is: a suburban white kid that raps about suburban life. I don't know about you, but that's pretty much right up my alley. Yurp.

The joint I have from him is one of the best college songs I've ever heard, I Love College. Check it out.

You gotta love the Say It Ain't So sample from Weezer.

[Note: If you can't hear the whole song, it's about time you open an imeem account. I mean, it's damn near 2009...]
