Leonard Fournette Is Staying Home [Rap Squats & Respectful Bows All Around!]

 photo awrfournette_zpsb548aca9.jpg
I knew it all along. I swear.

There's no way that good ol' Leslie Edwin could let arguably the biggest offensive recruit in recent history that just happened to be from Louisiana, leave the state for his collegiate career...is there? Yesterday I actually entered the day extremely somewhat optimistic that LSU would go 5 for 5 with the remaining recruits at the Under Armour All-American game. And I wasn't the only one.

Well, 5 for 5 didn't happen. But we did get two, including the the #1 overall prospect, Mr. Buga Nation himself, Leonard Fournette.

And I couldn't be more excited. Why am I so excited? Don't believe me, just watch:

See? He's Adrian Peterson 2.0. He's currently a man among boys. When he gets to LSU he'll be a man among young men. And besides, he does rap squats.

Leslie Edwin strikes again.

LSU vs. Alabama 2013. I'm Ready.

Game of the Century Part....5?

Now that my Bears handled business against the lowly Green Bay Packers Monday Night (Don't taser me, bro!), I can now focus all of my energy on the other game I circle every year: the showdown against Alabama. It seems this game always has some kind of national championship implications, and this year is no different. I also just really hate the team, school and brand of Alabama. Come to think of it, there's really only a few teams that I really and truly hate: the Green Bay Packers, the EA Spartans, the Detroit Pistons, the Indiana Pacers. But none of them come even close to my hatred for Alabama. I mean, what's not to hate? And with all of this "Saban to Texas" talk, I'm actually hoping he sticks around. Nah, let me stop lying. Geaux Tigers.

Official prediction: LSU 38 - Alabama 27. We'll use this win to propel us to the Top 10 in the BCS and paired with our upcoming win against A&M, we'll represent the West in the SEC Championship. Stamp it.

Also, Les Miles is a mad man. Gotta love it.

(6) LSU at (9) UGA. Man, Oh Man.

LSU. Georgia. Biggest game of the year....to this point. (I'll probably say that at least four more times this year.) We're a little over an hour until kickoff but it's never too late to get hype. I'm expecting big games out of Jarvis Landry (8 catches, 85 yards), Jeremy Hill (115 yards, 2 TDs) and Zach Mettenberger (225 yards, 2 TDs) in Zach's first return to Athens since 2010. Georgia's offense will be able to move the ball but their defense will have no match for the most improved quarterback and offense in the SEC. Official prediction: 31 - 24 LSU. WRITE THAT DOWN, Georgia fans. Here we go!

FINALLY. THE REMATCH IS HERE.

Photobucket

It’s here. It’s finally here.

Well first off, Happy New Year all. I've basically been on an extended blog break since the holidays but I'm finally making my triumphant return. And for very good reason. Tonight, January 9, 2012 at 8:00 pm EST, my LSU Tigers are up for their third National Championship since 2003 [and perfection] against the hated and bammish Alabama Crimson Tide. Less than a week after getting spurned by arguably the nation’s top safety prospect—and fellow Dutchtown High School alum—Landon Collins, we’re set to make history as the greatest football team in history. I’m aware that that’s a pretty bold statement, but I’ll stand by it. [Trust me, I’ll explain another day in another post.] Regardless, tonight’s the night. If you’re looking for me, I’ll be the shorter fellow sporting the purple and gold “BEAT BAMA AGAIN” t-shirt.

And I’ll be slightly drunk.
OK, I'll be really drunk.

Whether you're going for the Tigers or the Tide, this video should get you hype:

Oh, and about Landon Collins, the battle isn't over. Here are words from Randy Rosetta himself:

I'll take that.

And seriously, could you imagine the Coaches' Trophy in these hands?!

What Were Your Parents Thinking??? Pt. 2 [SEC Edition]

Photobucket
This post might be twice as bad as my last What Were Your Parents Thinking??? post. I'm actually sure it is. It's pretty funny because when I was thinking of some really messed up names, Knowshon Moreno was the first one I thought of and it's actually not that bad compared to some of the other ones I found. His name is really a combination of his father's nickname [Knowledge] and his mother's name [Varashon]. Not the most common name, but definitely not too bad.

But now, onto the next one: Barkevious Mingo.

This one hits close to home because Mingo is a freshman linebacker for the LSU Tigers. His name is so wild that Name of the Year crowned it the 2009 Name of the Year. Whoa. I'm not sure how or WHY the name Barkevious came about but damn....What Were Your Parents Thinking?????

[Note: Barkevious Mingo might be one of the best defenders on LSU defense this year and definitely has a shot to make it to the next level after college. Don't let the name fool you, dude is actually nice as shit on the field.]

Best College Baseball Game...Ever.

Photobucket
Yeah, I'd say so.

But only because we won.

Last night, LSU beat Texas to take a 1-0 lead in the College World Series Finals. But not only that, it was the best baseball game that I've ever seen. Seriously. The teams combined for a CWS record 8 solo Home Runs, as well as a great comeback from two runs down in the top of the 9th by LSU to tie up the game. Last night's game was also the longest game in terms of innings and time in College World Series history. Matty "Matty Ice" Ott, D.J. LeMahieu and Mikie Mahtook played the lights out and were the main reasons the Tigers were able to pull out the win. The freshman Mahtook was even responsible for the game-winning single in the top of the 11th...even after striking out his first three times at bat. Jared Mitchell had a great game, so did Chad Jones from the mound. The game just went back-and-fourth all night and anyone that watched it would say that it was one of the best [if not the best] games they've ever seen.

Unless they're a Texas fan of course.

LSU can clinch their 6th National Championship by winning tomorrow night in Omaha. And don't bet against em.
