Van She - Changes [MP3 + Download]

Photobucket
Van She is one of many bands that I didn't start listening to until a few years after they reached the peak of their popularity. I almost loafed. If it wasn't for me checking samples on Crystal Castles' first album, I probably would've never found em. Funny how samples work. It turns out that Crystal Castles sampled Van She on one of my favorite songs of theirs, Vanished. [Get it...Van She...Vanished?...alright.] You have to listen closely to get the sample, but it's there.

Anyway, the point of all this is to show you the song Changes which is my favorite track off of Van She's debut album V. It even has a little bit of a Phoenix-y sound around the hook. Check it out.

Also check out the song that started it all, Sex City.

Super Bowl '10 Prediction

Photobucket
So yea, I'm still in Baton Rouge but I'll be damned if I don't make it back to Atlanta by kickoff. It's no real surprise but I'm going with Indy on this one. Peyton's been here before and even though he's only won one ship before this year, a win here could claim him the spot as the best quarterback of all-time. Dwight Freeney's probably not as hurt as we all think and I'm not confident in New Orleans' ability to stop the Indianapolis offense. Not to mention, my Bears are nowhere near the Super Bowl so I guess Indy's the best choice. Plus...they have a black head coach. Sorry Reggie, sorry Kim, sorry...Breesus??

Final Score: New Orleans - 28 // Indianapolis - 42

Music of the Moment - January 31, 2009

Aight, I'll admit it...this one is kind of different. But at the same time, I can't stop playing it. I'm pretty new to Animal Collective, but you probably are too. They're an indie group from Baltimore and they have one of the most unique sounds I've heard in a long time. I'm kind of loafing getting around to post this at the end of last year but I just forgot about it at the last minute. They dropped Merriweather Post Pavilion earlier this year and I heard some good and some bad. Anyways, I still haven't really sat down and listened to the entire cd but I will soon. In the meantime, check out my favorite joint that I've heard so far, Guys Eyes. Ow.
