The NBA Playoffs Have Been the Jealous

Photobucket
As much as it pains me to say, I was rooting for Lebron and the Cavs to win the Championship this year after they knocked off my Bulls but ever since they went out, the playoffs have been BORING. Each round I've found myself saying, "Man, this round sucks but next round bout to be dope." I've been disappointed each time. Take these conference semis for example. Going in, I was thinking both the Lakers/Suns and the Magic/Celtics had the chance to be epic...but I was wrong. There were, however, a couple of highlights from last night's game, such as the death of Grant Hill's ankles:

And for your gif image pleasure:

Another crazy highlight was Shannon Brown's near epic/fatal posterization of Jason Richardson:

That picture looks Photoshopped like shit....but it's not.

And the last, and possibly funniest image from last night's game was....AC Green??

He had a striking resemblance to this sketch from the Chris Rock Show:
Even though it's only been one game each, I think the Conference Finals are over and we're set for a Lakers/Celtics rematch. I'm sure that will leave Steve Kerr and all the Suns fans feeling like this:

Is it football season yet??????

Best Lunch Break...Ever??

Photobucket
Back on Wednesday I had quite possibly the best lunch break ever...and I didn't even eat. One of my favorite bands, Phoenix, was in Atlanta [and in AMERICA] for their concert but during the day they had an in-store appearance at Criminal Records in Little 5 Points. They did like a five or six song set and even stayed around for autographs. Really nice band. They brought in a really diverse group of fans: Some girls skipped school at UGA to drive down, I met a guy who drove from Nashville and a woman even called out of work to make it. I mean, I was even there haha. Here are more of the pics that I got and a video that another one of the fans Manu Muraro posted. It was a great way to end out the month, to say the least.

Dope.

If Phoenix is ever in your city, go see them. Also, check out Criminal Records the next time you're in Little Five Points. I even met the mysterious @Criminal Records twitterer, Lillian. She's dope too.

Music [Video] of the Moment - June 11, 2009

Photobucket
First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my older brother. He's 25 today and it's even making me feel old.

Now on to the music. I'm still feeling this band, Phoenix. If you haven't heard their album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, then you are LATE. I haven't stopped playing it since I bought it and I don't think that's gonna change anytime soon. Check out the first two videos for the album for the singles Lisztomania and 1901. I originally posted 1901 back in April and it's still in rotation. Wavy.

I promise, every time I listen to these joints I look like:

Music of the Moment - April 23, 2009

I gotta make this post quick because the Bulls are about to come on. Anyway, today's joint is a remix of 1901 by Phoenix that I blogged about a few weeks ago. It was remixed by French bandThe Teenagers and it's pretty dope. Let me get this shit up so I can watch this W in Chicago. Oww.

Might as well post the video from another popular Phoenix song, Too Young. You might remember it from the early dancing scene in Shallow Hal with Jack Black.
Wavy.

Music of the Moment - April 6, 2009

In my never-ending search for hard to find and newly discovered music, I stumbled across the band Phoenix. Now even though they sound like the bird from X-Men, they're a pretty hot band. The French, alternative band is from the same neck of the woods as Daft Punk and their sound reminds me of another band that I like, Does it Offend You, Yeah? The band has been around since the late 90's and are set to release their fourth album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix at the end of May. [I'm coppin. You should too.] Check out the first single from their new album called 1901. It might make you want to do this:

I wouldn't blame you though. Owwwww.

1901

Oh, and they were on SNL this past weekend with Seth Rogen. Rockin. Ow.
